HI everyone,
I planning to build a 300 gallon pond with the dimensions of 6 ft x 3 ft x 2 ft (27 in)

I want to have 2 oscars in it and I need some help from you guys for the rest.
However, I want to avoid bass, clown knife fish, arowana, and red tail catfish.

Thanks.

A red tail would be too big for it any way. What temperature?

I'm not sure, 75-80 prob since its outside. I'm wondering how to heat it still, but yea 75-80 with the daily fluctuations.

Nah, I am not a fan of bottom feeders. Maybe a jaguar cichlid tho.

Maybe a school of silver dollars? Consider tinfoil barbs? Other oscars? Larger cichlids (like severums for example... geos could work). Leporinus if you find them could work.

I would highly reconsider not having bottom dwellers, that would work best and have a lowest potential of things going wrong... and also really open up your options IMO.

How about midas cichlids? They are brightly colored which is good. But are they compatible with oscars?

So you basically want tank fish in a pond? is it going to have a viewing panel... if not I would consider some sort of bottom dweller. your not going to see many of the beautiful markings.

Some have had them together, others have not had them work. It may work, especially if you have places for refuge for any victI'm to get away from eachother.
