How big are the jars? You should be fine but you will have to do daily water changes. Breeders keep bettas in separate jars before selling them so you should be fine for now.
Maybe you can divide the 5g tank into 2 using dividers and house the other one in like a plastic container(1-2g). Maybe get a filter for the one in the plastic container so that you don’t have to do daily water changes. I get use the containers of snacks normally.

It really depends on jar size and how you plan to heat them. Its possible to house bettas in jars but you either need some sort of filtration system OR daily water changes. Then you have to have a way to heat them. Even small sponge filters will be fine.

With that small amount of water, I would definitely change out all of the water daily. You can keep a betta in almost any type of container, as long as you keep the water clean and they have some room to move around. I kept a few in glass cookie jars. Others keep them in plastic totes. As long as the temp is right, the water is clean, and the parameters fit, they should be ok. It's not ideal, but it will do for a little while.
