3 African Cichlids An A Butterikoferi

I currently have a 40gal and have 2 african cichlids along with a clown knife, 3 tiger barbs, 2 tin foils and bala shark. They all get along pretty well.

I'll be getting 3 more african cichlids and a butterikoferI that have been tank mates in another tank.

Question is will the newcomers be an issue with my current tank dwellers? I know introducing a new fish is always a challenge. Figured they should all get along, right?

I have a 75gal, but haven't started on it yet. I plan to move all the cichlids, the butterikoferI and the clown knife into it, and leave the barbs, tin foils and bala shark in the 40.

Dang. Mine is still juvinile, only maybe 2 1/2". Maybe put him in the 75?

Much like the tin foils. I bought a pair for 5 bux about 2" long. 2 months later they're gigantic. It's like holding coffeecup saucer!

OMG you're right! I have to stop people on Oscars all the time.

 

My first tank (55gal) was with Oscars. I thought they were soo cool with their red & black colors. I bought 10 becasue they were so cheap ($2.29 ea.). Once I started to feed them live feeders, they just exploded in growth! 2 had died and the other 8 just went BOOM. It was a fight in futility trying to keep the tank clean. They were eating and pooping machines.

After about 5 years I gave up and sold everything for $75 bux just to not throw it away. OMG never again! !!

I'll stick to cichlids and the like.

 

Yeah my Tiger Oscar (Todd) is in a 125. He is still little but he is growing fast. You should see Dawn Michele 's oscar, he is awesome

 

Wow! Yeah they grow big and fast it's unbelievable! I saw an Albino that was huge! Man those red eyes are awesome!

The buttikoferI will get too big, and is mean enough to kill everything. I'd skip that species altogether. Even a single in a 75 would be crowded.

Welp I went done did it. Got the 3 African Cichlids (Blue, Yellow & one with a red-ish belly) and the buttikoferi. He's about 2"
