I have a 29 gallon tank and I was wanting the following in it and wanted to know if it was too much:

    1)5 Congo tetras
    2)6 platys
    3)3 blue guorami's
    4)6 striped bottom feeders

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to Fishlore!

Unfortunately there are a few issues with that stocking.

I would leave the Congos out - they get to a pretty good size, and I don't think they're appropriate for a 29 gal tank.

Platies are fine, though I would keep all males so you're not overrun with fry.

Blue gouramis get a little too big for this tank, at 6" each.

Depends on the bottom feeder, but there are ones that will work in this tank!

    What about this stocking?

12x Skirt tetra (black, white, or glo, as they're all the same species)
    4-6x Male platies
1x Dwarf gourami (just one - males will fight to the death and females are hard to find and aren't as pretty)
10x Panda cories or Kuhli loaches

Hey TexasDomer remember you were helping with my post a while ago? How is it that I tag you so you can see my post? I need to get my test kit so I know if I'm cycled or not still.

Just put the @ symbol before her name with no space, like @TexasDomer

And it sends her a notification? Can I do it in a subject line?

I don't know, but if you are trying to contact her directly you can send her a private message as long as you have 50 posts or more.

    thanks for the tips :)

We've actually decided to get a 60 gallon. Would the original fish I listed above be good in that size tank?

There are still some issues with that stocking though.

What are the dimensions of the 60 gal? We can suggest some plans for you :)

    It's 12.75 inches L, 48.5 inches W, and 25 inches in H

Can you tell me what you mean by striped bottom feeders?

Do you know what kind of cories those are? I don't. Do you want that specific species, or would another species of cory work?

That photo is from planetcatfish.com. It will tell you the name and species, and is also a reliable source for fish requirements as well, like temp range.
