Heres my set-up. I would love to hear thoughts and comments. I'm new to the planted tank world.
20180421_145138.jpg

Equipment and such:
29 g glass tank (1$ per gallon at Petco)
Fluval C3 with extra c-nodes
Aqueon 100w heater
Hydor Koralia 240 wavemaker
Glass pitri dish
Floating Log
1 small airstone hidden behind Hornwort
3 cholla wood pieces
3 Mopani wood pieces
2 Spider wood pieces

Plants:
3 Amazon sword
3 budding Dwarf Water Lilys
A few bunches of Staurogyne Repens
3 Java fern
4 Assorted Anubias (1 Nana)
10 Marimo moss balls
2 big bunches of Hornwort
2 budding Water Onions
1 bulb of Apongeton
Java moss on my bonsai tree

I planted Flourish tabs and dose Excel. I use some Flourish liquid to help the floating plants.

Bio-load:
7 Ghost Shrimp
6 Neon Tetra
6 Longfin Zebra Danios
4 Nerite Snails
4 Otocinclus
2 African Dwarf Frogs (male and female)
2 Longfin Serpae Tetra
1 Clown Pleco
1 Male Betta
1 Red-Tailed Shark (the only 'bully')
1 Golden Killifish

The betta is not a bully not does he get nipped. The frogs and Serpae should have some more friendos but they're not showing signs of stress.

AquariumAdvisor Stats:

80% Filtration
43% weekly water change
128% bio-load stocked

What substrate are you using? Also couldn't see where you posted lighting. Besides substrate and ferts you should be fine. I usually don't recommend excel for carbon for your plants because it's not the type it will benefit from. Pressurized it what you would need for that. Excel is good for algae control but that's about all. Without a good substrate your plants won't do as good as they should. I use eco complete but you can use anything you like. Plants do require co2 as it give carbon to them, no matter what you hear it is required for good plant health. Lighting is also key. If you have low light plants you should be fine with any light that puts 6500k-7000k. You can find some nice nicrew and beamswork led fixtures on Amazon that would be fine for a very cheap price, I got mine for a 55 gallon for under $70. Hope this helps. Oh, if you want you plants to really flourish I recommend Thrive as a fertilizer it's the best liquid fertilizer on the market and is much more effective than anything else.

Cool looking tank.

I agree with emmysjj.

But I think you are already aware of your stocking issues based on your post.
