Hey everyone, its been a hot minute sense I posted last. about 2 1/2 months. But i wanted to share an update on how my tank was doing. So I've added an done a lot to the tank sense my last post. Last time we spoke I had some molies that passed an pretty much all my shrimp had died. But I wasn't gonna let that stop me !.
So the new stuff about the tank I've completely done away with plastic plants an have added multiple real live plants. I cant remember everything i have put in the tank but those who know lives plants might be able to see what I've added.
Also Eagle Eyed People will see the Empire tried to take over the tank but the Black Skirt Tetras stopped that from happening ( there's a AT-AT walker in the Green Forrest ). I also added some Coconut shells to act as little hidey holes under the sponge filters. Through out the last few months I've tried keeping a population of shrimp but it just seems as though they will not survive with the tetras an molies. Even the Cores want blood the second they get put in. So I've started saving for a micro tank to have shrimp in.
Most Recently i added a second bristlenose pleco, a Blue Eye Lemon Bristlenose Pleco. He seems to be chillin with the other pleco that's in there. The other Pleco is a Albino Bristlenose Pleco.
The Birdsong Goby I've been nothing but worried about for absolutely no reason. The order page i got him from back in - mid April says the water has to be near perfect for him. And well it seems cleaning the substrate with a new power vac from PetSmart ( 60 dollars for a power vac that filters the water back into the tank ) keeps him happy as ever.
also ordered a wavemaker a few weeks ago, i got rid of the powered filter around the same time as it kept shutting off and i was only using it to make bubbles to add more water surface irritation. But heres the product if anyone wants to get one, it works wonders for keeping the water moving. - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z4N5VJF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Also ordered this one for the bottom of the tank but it was moving the plants around - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OS6C23K?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Well that ends this update for now. Hope everyone an there fish are having a wonderful start to the summer !
