29 Gallon Tank Set Up

I recently purchased an Aquaclear 70 for my tank. Have 6 moss balls and am on top of water changes. Tank is fully cycled. So currently 1 Peppered Cory with plans to get 5 more (can one be an albino??), 3 hatchets with plans to get 3 more (a couple weeks after the Cory’s) 3 male platys and 2 powder blue male dwarf Gouramis.
Total length:
6 Cory’s = 12”
6 Hatchet = 18”
3 Platy’s = 6”
2 Dwarf Gouramis = 6”
= 42” of fish
Am I done?

 

The “1in of fish per gallon” rule is pretty much trash.

IMO your stocking looks good to me. A school of bottom feeders, top/mid dwelling school and a couple centerpiece fish are about right for a 29gal. I’d only do one gourami though, they can be snots to their own kind especially if both are male.

As for the albino cory, it would a different species with a warmer water temperature requirment. Most albinos are bronze corries. Better to stick with just the one species.

Nice looking tank!

I have peppered Cory's also in my 75 gallon and they have been very hardy for me. Great fish.

Demeter gave excellent advice. I would get 1 gourami also.

The AC70 is a great choice. I have one also along with 3 other AC's.

If you can, try to get all Male platy's. Otherwise you're gonna end up with a lot of fry!

 

Aquaclears are awesome filters in my opinion and experience. I own a total of 5 of them.
