240 display tank. Is 55 sump enough? Question

  1. Christopher Meunier Initiate Member

I just acquired a 240 gallon display tank for $100 (with a 4x4 and 2x6 stand). I currently have a 55 gallon tank that I can use as a sump. I have found a couple of calculation sites that say I only need 40 gallons, but I wanted to double and triple check here.

    Thanks for any advice

you don't want to go smaller then required but for a sump, mine on my 90g saltwater is 30. I am not super experienced with sumps but I don't see a problem with that size.

And, more importantly welcome and I am super happy you found a deal such as that! :)
