20G to 40G Upgrade (40G Tank Build)

My 20G recently sprung a leak from the bottom of the tank, and as a result I am currently in the process of building my new 40G planted tank.

I thought I would start this tread to keep track of the tank and share the process

I haven't been too consistent with uploading updates, but here is a delayed update from the past month or so...

Tank Update -
Stock as at 16/08 is as follows:
- 14 Rummynose Tetras
- 15 Neon Tetras
- 1 EBR (male)
- 2 GBR (one male, one female)

Currently planning to remove the neon tetras from the tank, as the centre of the tank is too crowded. I intend on introducing a female EBR, as well as some bottom feeders.
Also planning to add more rocks and plants, as well as driftwood, as the tank is quite bare at the moment.

Introduced Female EBR. (not so photogenic)





Tank Update (12/09)
Rearranged hardscape, removed and added several rocks.
Added various new plants:
- Pothos at the top of the tank
- Frogbit & Duckweed
- Java Fern
- Staurogyne Repens
- 3 Unidentified Stem Plants (X1 Floating)
Added 1 Terracotta Pot covered with Java Moss.
Added 6 Rummynose Tetras.
Added fresh white sand.

It was planned for my June vacation but ummm, my exhaustion from work got in the way lol!
Hoping to get started in two weeks during my next staycation. . I’ll definitely do a build thread.
And I’m thinking of a reverse of yours. I have a 5 g bucketful of bdbs with smooth peace river gravel mixed in. And I have 3 bags of PFS. So thinking of a “stream” with the bdbs/peace river gravel and the rest PFS.
