I'm thinking of getting a 20 long for mainly plant, and to have some colorful shrimp as well.

My concerns are the lighting, I use t5ho on my 55 but its a deep tank so I was wondering what I needed for a 20 long.

Also, the tank will be DIY co2, would this be ok for shrimp?

Thanks ahead.

Would normal output work for a medium/high since its a shallow tank?

Its just a standard 24 inch fluorescent bulb. I don't remember the wattage or know the spectrum. I just know the plants love it.

Hmmm. I dunno. The sword in my 55 wasn't loving NO light but looks appreciative of the HO I've been running about a week on it.

No idea what it is LOL I can tell you though that when I first put it in, a Dwarf Lily I had at the time grew about 6 inches in just a few hours, and that was over a 29 gallon tank, which is about twice as tall.
