Gorgeous!

Just an FYI, the Amazon lights seem to be brighter than a high end light like fluval. I've had to dramatically reduce lighting times to limit algae growth. Other than that it's totally worth it to save $150-250.

That looks lovely!

I agree at some point your just paying for the name. I bought Nicrew led light off Amazon for my 60-gallon tank and it looks amazing. I just ordered another for my next build which is a 30-gallon tank.

Thanks guys. It wouldn’t technically be a biotope even though all the plants are from the basic area. From what I could tell, I have plants from India all the way down the Mekong river system. I’m trying to decide livestock now.

Very nice, can't wait to see this one in a couple weeks time! And yeah, I used the Amazon off brand Nicrew on my 20 gallon high for about 5 months now and it grew plants perfectly fine. It wasn't bright enough for the bottom of the tank montecarlo I tried and the dwarf sag never really took off but it worked great for everything else. I just switched to a finnex planted plus 24/7 which is a bit brighter from what I can tell. Not sure it's really worth the extra $40 but we'll see.

Here’s the light I got.

Trying to decide what I want to put in this tank. Any ideas?

A pair of Apistogramma AgassiziI Double Reds would look great with some Coral Pencil Fish as dithers!

Should the Apistos breed in there?

I don’t agree, well not completely. I would say that anything over $200 you are paying for the name. But with the cheaper brands of lights, you definitely get what you pay for. I would shoot for mid-range prices and not the cheapest. You won’t be sorry you spent a little more. Your plants will do better also.

I just got a Chihiros light for my 10g, it was under $50 and has 7 settings. It is a great, inexpensive light. Now the Beamswork EA 6500k light was cheap off Amazon, and was . But the Beamswork DA FSpec works great. Just spent the little extra and got good quality.

I’ve never personally bred apistos before, but I’ve heard from many sources that a pair does just fine in a twenty gallon by themselves or with dithers

Finally have my co2 hooked up. Almost killed myself in the process. lol. 1bps should work for this tank?

I’m also worried about surface agitation. How much is too much when injecting co2?

Redid my plumbing. I’m going to get an in tank diffuser. The in line sent large bubbles into the tank and so I’d rather have them smaller micro bubbles that will dilute into the water column. I also like this set up more for the water flow.

What fish would do well in a low flow tank. I’m guessing about 150 gph.

Beautiful!

Is this melt and will the plants pull out of it?

Wow is that a nice tank. One of the best ones I’ve seen! Also, thanks for the link to the light. Might borrow that idea from ya.

Thank you. I did some rescaping and added stock.

Monte Carlo and some gold white clouds. I also yanked the Buce that was in there so that it wouldn’t effect my water quality.
