Hi guys. I see a lot of threads about plecos for 20 longs, but not too many for 20 highs.

My question is, are there any possible plecos that would thrive in a 20 high?
I really like the white seam bristlenose pleco, but I see conflicting information on if bristlenose plecos will get too large for my tank.
I don't mind clown plecos, but they're not my first choice if I have options.

    Tank plans:

10 dwarf corydoras (likely Corydoras habrosus)
    Cherry shrimp and crystal shrimp
    One or two mystery snails

    Tank:

    Thank you!

Bristle nose should be fine in a 20gallon

Most BNs will only reach 3 inches, but even that's large. For a high you might want to get smaller BNs like albinos.

I have a Rubber Lip Pleco, I think they stay pretty small.

Thank you guys! I've seen rubberlips at Petsmart - they look like little prehistoric beasts! Awesome looking.

I'll look into albino plecos. I like the longfin albino ones.

I like both of those options and will look more into both. :)

3 inches is a small female or stunted male. common bristlenose. Males get up to 5-6 inches easily.

Looks like the 'rubberlip' pleco I usually see is Chaetostoma formosae. Reaches a max of around 4 inches. Not sure if this is small enough.

Bristlenose plecos are awesome but I don't think I have the space for them. :(

Common BNs are very rare where I am. Most of the BNs I've seen are Lemondrops, Albinos, etc. Common BN can sometimes even reach 8 inches

Yes, I'm not sure if it's a boy or girl but I just call him a he. I feed him algae wafers and he loves it and loves to go on the driftwood I placed in there!

The only pleco I would consider putting in a 20 high is a clown pleco. BNs and rubber noses get too big, imo.
