20 gallon tank and a pair of dwarf Gourami's

Hey guys, I have a 20 gallon tank that is cycled now.

I was wondering if it would be ok if I were to get one male and one female to go with my 6 zebra danios and 6 ghost shrimp. I would also be planning on adding 2 oto's or so in the near future as well.

Let me know what you guys think (hopefully soon because I would like to go and buy the gourami's tomorrow)

I would be leery adding gourami to a tank with danio. Gourami are surface dwellers that get pretty territorial, and danio are surface dwellers. I'm unsure as to whether or not the gourami would eat ghost shrimp, but if the shrimp got near the top I'm sure they would... and shrimp like to climb. But someone who has actually tried it may be along soonly.

Best of luck.

6 ghosts will be too much for a 20g; they will fight each other, I think 2-3 willl be fine.
u can try 2 dwarfs with danios. otos r always fine.

I've never had a problem with ghost shrimp fighting each other or fish in the tank with them in the year we've had them. As I stated in another thread though, lifeforms have personalities that are not always the norm.

I have not had any problems with my ghost shrimp so far. I am just looking for a good center piece fish to go into my 20 gallon (I guess I'll post another topic and see what people suggest) and I thought that a pair of gourami's would do the job but I am not so sure now.
