20 Gallon Tall Question

    Stocking thoughts? I currently have:

    •2 Nerite Snails
    •3 Mickey Mouse Platy
    •6 Zebra Danio
    •5 Albino Corydora

I have a medium hikari sponge filter, a Penguin 150 Biowheel HOB and do weekly if not bi-weekly 30% water changes. Also working on adding more live plants- currently just have Vallisneria.

I would love to add a Dwarf Gourami but feel like it might be too much.

    Thanks!

Zebra Danios need longer tanks, than they would high.
I suggest 20g long tanks, as fish need more horizontal swimming room, over vertical.

I agree. You have already exceeded the 1inch per gallon rule of thumb. In tall tanks you shouldn't have 1inch per gallon because of the reduced surface area where o2 and co2 are exchanged.

Those albino cories and zebra danios need a 20 long minimum. Albino cories get larger then most cories and zebra danios are super active.

In a 20 long you would have room for a DG

    How about
    8-10 Neon or Glowlight Tetras
1 Bolivian Ram or 6-8 Salt and Pepper Cories
    3 Platies(1 Male 2 Females)
    2 Nerite Snails

The danios are fine in the high, but I agree about the cories.
You could do a bolivian ram or Apistogramma borelli instead of the gourami.

    I agree with Anders247, zebra danios are fine in a 20 H.

Thank you! Unfortunately I can't move the cories right now- if I keep them all in the 20h is it too much to add a single one of those others? Or should I consider my tank stocked?

I think you could still add one of those others I mentioned.
