So, my brother has a 20 gallon long, and he wants new fish.
What could we stock the tank with that is warm water, and agree with the current fish we have in the tank.

    Here's the current stocking.

    20 gallon 30x12x12
    7 White Skirt Tetras (rehoming)
    3 Kuhli Loach (rehoming)
    1 Thicklip Gourami
    1 Clown Pleco

He wants something bright, and active, not small, nor too large.
What are some suggestions? He wanted to try a betta, but I wasn't sure. He's also got some Bronze Cory on his list, that he must have.

1 German blue ram would just about fit when the kuhli and whiteskirts are gone. Just make sure ammonia and nitrite are ALWAYS below 0.25.

I'd suggest apistos! Very bright and colourful, and many species- and in somw cases, strains - have vivid colouration. Plus they rather hardy.

A group of cories could work, and a school of 6 make a good addition.

I would also suggest ember tetras - they rather flashy - or even suggest pencilfish. Pencils are amazing fish, full of personality and very entertaining to watch. Plus really hardy!

Oh! I love the coloring of the apistos!
    I love them!

    Heres my new stocking plan.
    x1 Cockatoo Cichlid, aka apistos
    x6-8 Pencil Fish
    x6-8 Bronze Corydora
    x1 Clown Pleco

Please let me know if this stock has some problems with it!

I'd do a few more pencilfish and leave out the clown pleco, but sounds good otherwise!

Well, my brother sneaked onto my account, and posted that.
He’s aalready got the Pleco in the tank.

Then I'd reduce the stocking elsewhere. Clowns are poopy. Does he have driftwood in the tank?

Three huge chunks of it, he's good.
    Yes, he's very messy!

My brother doesn't know about the pencilfish, he wants to edit those for another species of schoolers, and change his cory to emerald.
    Any thoughts?

Theres a multitude of tetras alone that would do well. Some off the top of my head:
    - black phantoms
    - rosy tetras
    - black neons
    - rummies
    - reed
    - embers

This is his new stocking plan,
    Does it sound alright?

    x1 Cockatoo Cichlid
    x6-10 Reed Tetra
    x6-8 Ember Corydora
    x1 Clown Pleco

Also, pick what amount of corydora, and reed tetra.
    He is not sure.

I'd personally have around 8 tetras and 8 cories. If everything is going well, I'd bump up the tetra school to around 10 without concern.

I'd say this is fine, just do 8 of each schooler.
