Hello all, after a little over 2 years of tinkering with this tank I think it's finally in it's final/finished stage as far as stocking and scaping goals goes. It's at the point I've been trying to get it to all this time.....now that it's finished I'm shopping for a 55 gallon to start anew. I made this little video today of my tanks "finished" state out of boredom. It's been a fun journey with this tank with plenty of ups, down, and lessons learned

Is there a setup thread on this tank? Equipment and plants and whatnot? Love this design and would like to mimic it in my 75

Thanks all, I couldn't have done it without the forum. I guess this tank isn't COMPLETELY finished since once my 55 is up and running I'll be moving the harlequins and ram to the 55. I realized after stocking peppered corys like cooler waters so once the harlequins and ram is moved I'll be restocking with more temp compatible species that like cooler waters. (around 72 degrees). the 55 will be for warmer water species. Terabyte here's a basic rundown....filters are 3 aquatech h.o.b. 5-15 filters, lighting is a currentUSAsatellite PLUS model led and a currentUSAsatellite BASIC model led, substrate is mostly seachem flourite black sand, some regular play sand is used up front. ferts are diy osmocote plus tabs and NA Thrive's all in one fertilizer. Plant in back left is jungle val, in front of that is bronze wendti, moving to the right is bacopa and moneywort, I have no idea what the red plant is and I'm not entirely sure of the plant in the back right. foreground carpet is dwarf sagitaria. and amazon sword is hiding in the back and that's about it.

Looks terrific - and if you haven't bought your 55 yet, Petco has them at half price this week!

What kind of sand did you use to get those colors in it?

I really love it, wonderful job....similar to my 55 gallon. Good luck on your new 55 as well, I'm sure it will be equally rewarding.

great to know I'll probably pick one up from there today and start the 55 build! thanks! bryangar this tank has had a few substrate changes. At first it was all black diamond blasting sand, then I replaced the back 2/3rds of the substrate where most of then plants are with seachem flourite black sand, then I decided I wanted a more natural looking sand up front so I scooped out as much of the remaining black diamond sand and replaced it with play sand.....some of the black diamond sand remained however and my cory cats have promptly mixed it all together. So I basically have a mixture of 3 types of substrate.
