Hey Folks,

Welcome to the movin picture show . This is a short virtual tour of the 20 gallon long divided tank that resides in my bedroom.

Had a hard time getting video of Brutus. He's such a dark fish that he just always looks like a black blob on the videos

The toys for the boys are hamster tunnels & rings made out of aquarium tubing - some of them like nice still water for bubble constructin'.

For those of y'all who like to know: NH3: 0, N02-: 0, NO3-: 15

Theseus is absolutly stunning! Is he a super delta? His fins are beautiful and his coloration is amazing. Your tank looks wonderful also. That was my plan with my divided betta tank, but it has since been ripped apart to make room for my incomming newest pet.

Great video!

He says thanks. He is just one of the horridly overpriced half-moons from Petco. In hindsight he was worth every penny as he is the most gregarious and outgoing fish I've ever met. He was the result of a week long Betta quest where I drove to every LFS, chain and (most of the) Wally worlds in the San Antonio area.

They just float. If they move around too much in the filter wake I "pin" them with one of the aquarium tubing rings I use to keep the surface placid (tubing bent end to end). I move the "toys" around weekly when I do maintenance to give each boy some novelty. The only bad thing I can say about them is that they are algae greenhouses. But the guys don't care - they just like hanging out in them.

Glad y'all enjoyed it!

You did a fantastic job on the tank and have some good looking bettas.

Some questions:

- Where did you get your dividers and what did you use to secure them?

- What brand of sponge filter(s) are you using?

- Did you use pool filter sand?

1. Dividers are craft screen and binder clips as per Shawnie's Thread

2. Around 99% sure they are "Elite" brand sponge filters. Come in a blister pack and colors on the paper are blue and grey.

3. Sure did. Great stuff and at $5-$10 for 50lbs it sure is cheaper than LFS substrate.

Thanks for the video they all look great.
He was just miffed I was calling his name and tapping the rim of the aquarium without providing the normal feedings of bloodworms. The other two Bettas start dancing if I even look at the tank, Brutus has been trained to approach on tap because tap = food. The big man just don't dance. He just swims majestically, eats, and builds bubble nests. He will let me pet him!

anaugle That is fantastic. Beautiful Bettas!!! I love the hamster tubing idea.

great job your tank looks like a faboo home for each of your babies .....love it! just keep an eye on the sand, as bettas and sand dont usually mix well..but theres an exception to every rule!

I looked into this issue after seeing that a few times on this site and the opinions on this topic seem to be wildly divergent. I've even seen sand recommended as a substrate by some of the breeders with a web presence. From what I could tell, most issues seem to be with Bettas mistaking sand for pellets, since I don't feed "Betta Bits" or anything like that the boys don't seem to have any problems.

So we'll see how things go in the long run.
