What type of Pleco do you have? I have heard smallest tank for a Pleco (Clown and Bristlenose (4-6" as adults) is 29 gallons. Plecos poop a lot! Mollies I think can get about 3-5"??? So they need a bigger tank. Hmm Anders247 and TexasDomer are great at stocking! They should be able to help you!! they helped me with my 55 gallon.

Do you know what type of Pleco you have?

Don't put anything with the pleco in the 20 gal tank. He's already overstocking the tank with both bioload and space. I wouldn't put anything in the 20 gal until the pleco is out of there.

Rehome the molly. It'll get too big for both a 20 gal high and a 10 gal, and it is cruel to keep fish in tanks too small in order to prevent them from growing. That's stunting them, and it's very unhealthy.

I would offer plants but my tank developed a leak. Redoing my tank now, can't imagine your situation. Good start, hope you get everything back to you liking after the hurricane.

Now I don't want to promote this channel I have on youtube, but I posted a video yesterday showing my new set up and I just want to thank everyone for the kind comments. I need help choosing some new fish for my 20 gallon since over 30 of mine died due to hurricane Irma. In my tank I have a common pleco, a platy, and a black molly. Would appreciate suggestions. Here is the video incase you missed it. Thank you guys!

I know they get huge, but so far he is fine. Next month I am upgrading my tank. I think it's time.

Your tank is overstocked as it is I wouldn't recommend adding any more fish.

Overstocked with decorations? I just threw all the ones from my other two aquariums in there since I only have 3 fish at the moment. I just wanted to get another 2 or 3

Other than the pleco the tank is fine. Just move the filter to the middle of the tank as that will get the water clearer

With just the three fish you are overstocked till you can upgrade the Pleco to a much bigger tank.

He is getting the pleco into a 75, which is not enough, but still okay

Good, just don't add any fish until you can get the pleco into a CYCLED 75 gallon tank. I want to spread cycle awareness after my pufferfish died from an uncycled tank

I understand and I am sorry about your pufferfish. I syphon my tank every 7-10 days and I know you need how to set up a tank and let the water and the filter cycle the water for a couple days before you add any fish. I also use prime and bio booster

That's good and thank you. It warms my heart to see a cycled tank. I hope your pleco will be good

That's not how the nitrogen cycle works.

I understand where you're coming from. Yeah he is fine and very happy. I've had him for 13 months now. I need to get a plant for my tank. I already have driftwood in there for him.

Helps what? Cycling a tank takes weeks to do. Building bacteria to a level to process ammonia then nitrites into nitrates. All that running a filter in clean water does is get it to temp.

I understand I have been doing it differently for over a year now and everything has been fine
