20 Gallon Build Advice

So I've been debating reworking my 20 gallon to become a bit more lively. Right now it only has about 4 cherry barbs, 2 glowlight tetras, and 8 or 9 banjo catfish. In my 40 I have a small school of 4 blue eyed killis, a school of 12 guppies, and 3 female bettas. Would there be any issue transferring these guys to the 20 gallon?

 

Okay, I think everything will work except the Tetra. The Tetra might be too active and can nip the betas fins.

Go for it, need as much advice as I can get.

 

Glow light tetras and cherry barbs are schooling fish, so they must be kept in a minimum of 6 of its own species in a tank. So I will get 2 more cherry barb and 4 more glow light tetras.

If I were you, I would transfer the barbs and the tetras to the 40 and then transfer the Bettas to the 20. Make sure the temp is 76-80 degrees since betas require warmer waters.

I'm not sure of the banjos though

The banjos literally do nothing. From what I've heard and seen they like warm water and are one of the most inactive fish there are. The schools I had died from poisoning in the water from my water supplier, just haven't gotten the chance to buy back the schools for them.
