Hi, could I have some advise please?

My new interpet 200w heater, isnt managing to heat my water above 25C.Its struggling to even do that.
My tank is 40inch wide and 26ish inches deep. 220 litres (uk)

would 2 150w heaters be better than one 300w.
    Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem in my 55G. How do you have the heater positioned? I solved my problem by putting my filter intake tube on one side of the tank, and the heater on the other side. That way the heated water gets pulled through the length of the tank.

Two 150's would be more beneficial. You could place them on opposing sides. Plus if one fails you still have at least a back-up doing some work. With your tank size you could probably get away with 2x 100W though if you decide to go that route.

I hate giving advice that causes someone to run out and buy something new if there's no need though, so I'd try repositioning first.

I have one 300w on my 55g. I keep it right in the middle next to the filter intake. Tank stays at temp as long as heat in house in on. Last night, w/out heat, it only fell 4 degrees lower.
