Hi, I don’t think it’s needed to build a stand, as yes the stand can hold 20 gallons of water, so it should be able to hold extra for scape and gravel ect. I think it is possible, just go a little light on your scape, maybe like 2 rock iwagumI or something. Happy fish keeping

Hello all and sorry for the really late response. I'm not looking into building my own aquarium stand but thanks anyways! I wanted to know if someone had used the product I mentioned for a similar situation or some other product one could recommend to me. I want to be 100% the stand or another stand can hold that much weight because I do not want the tank and stand to collapse!

Also, my substrate will be sand which I assume is lighter than gravel. Plus, I always prefer sand as the fish seem to love it!

the first one, no, its advertised/rated for a 20 gallon tank. it might be able to handle both tanks as manufacturers usually rate their products a little less than what it can actually handle. but if it does collapse, the company won't honor the warranty b/c more weight was placed on it than what was advertised.

the 2nd one is advertised for up top 37g, but one review stated that the actual sticker on the tank says its for up to 29g. it should be able to handle a 15 and a 10.

Ok, thanks! Really appreciate the quick feedback! I'd also like to hear from others just to be certain it will work out.

And if I were to use the second stand I mentioned, should I place the 15 gallon on top or the 10 gallon tank? And should the other tank be placed on the very bottom to perhaps make the stand stable? What should the order be?

its stable enough to hold a 29 gallon on the top shelf, so shouldn't matter. just however you want.

One more thing, a friend of mine is giving away a 10-gallon tank and they asked me if I wanted it. I didn't say yes nor no as I didn't know if this stand could support 3 tanks. It did say it is for up to 37 gallons. So a 15 and two 10s would be 35 gallons in total. But I really don't want to take such a risk as there will be the weight of the substrate as well. Would this work or not? Probably not. If not, does anybody have any suggestions for cheap 10-gallon stands or maybe if a cube storage shelf could support the weight. I tried to search up the shelf product I have online but I couldn't find it.

if you put one tank on the very bottom shelf it would be able to hold all three tanks.
