hi! ive owned fish for about.. six or seven months, and I just made what I assume to be a common mistake!
I impulse bought a second betta.
now, I have a 5 gallon tank on its way, but in the meantime... I need a Very cheap place to put one of them. my current temporary setup is a one gallon jug with conditioned and cycled water and a bubbler, and a little plant for enrichment. is this ok? should I just buy a tiny cheapie tank? my budget is like. $15 because I am absolutely broke haha

Even a steralite tote would work. I have a few laying around. Throw a filter and a heater in it and your golden.

Most of the beneficial bacteria is in the filter, not the water. Using cycled water won't be adequate to keep the ammonia and nitrite levels down. You should test the water and do necessary water changes, which may be daily, until you have him in a cycled tank.
thank you!! ill most definitely do that

here are the boys btw...
veiltail gregory and doubletail astro
