1st canister filter JBJ?

I'm looking into a canister filter for my 40 gallon breeder. it might eventually go onto a 33g long. I was looking at all the obvious choices like fluval, marineland, eheim. all seem like good choices. then I saw the JBJ efu-25, it has a good number of reviews mostly positive feedback. it uses a uv light, I have no idea how helpful UV really is I have never used one. it has good reviews and a reasonable price. has anyone used this filter? is UV just a gimmick? and if someone wants to make a different recommendation please do.

I use marineland and aquaclear HOB filters and the work great just wanted something a lil more hidden. I'm also looking into the hydor ETH in-line heater. dose it work well? other in-line heater suggestions would be great.

From what I've heard its another version of the marine land C series filters. They are pretty good filters. The UV really isn't necessary. I would recommend an eheim 2215. A great filter with a tried and true reputation.

I've also never used the ETH heater, but I've heard and read great things about them. I believe they will fit the tubing of an eheim 2215.

UV is good, except that the exposure time is limited by the flow of the filter. Ideally the flow would be low, so that the water spends moe time in contact with the bulb. So, the UV built into the filter is nice, but the benefits are minimal under those conditions.

The fluval 06 series is good too. But if you can find an eheim go for it
