Thanks for the wonderful comments guys! I did work so hard to get this tank set up for the arowana. its too bad I will only be able to keep him for about 2 years before he outgrows it.. I will just replace him with a smaller one at that time. If there are any updates I will keep you posted.. The last step is refurbishing an old canopy.. I will Let you know how that works out. Thanks again!!
Heres an update on my tank. Hope you guys like what I have done.
I have 2 geo altifron, 1 geo abalios, 1 Acarichthys heckelii, 1 silver arowana, 1 red severum, 1 gold severum, 1 green severum, a synodontis multi, albino common pleco.
To answer your question, arowana can reach a size of 3 feet
Beautiful tank! My 55 gallon can hardly compare. Smaller tanks are easier to work with in a technical way and ongoing expense way, but in terms of delicate species, a big tank offers very little fluctuation in paramteters. I would love to have one bigger than/as big as that. So much space to create something really amazing. I love the Arowana.
@ Angel_scout: I've heard that Arowanas have been reported at 36", but 12 to 24 is more common in captivity. I don't remember where I heard that though.
Thanks for your comments. =).. I go over to monsterfishkeepers.com from time to time and for them a 180 gallon is small! ... this is the biggest tank I have ever had and I spend hours just staring at it. well it was the tank or a flat screen tv and I think I made the right choice. =)
