125 gallon set up idea

I have 125 gallon tank 6' long I'd like to set up has fresh water tank. I'm looking for some idea on what would be a good heater and filter for it.
I plan on putting a pleco, some golden loaches and also need ideas on other tank mates. My 30 gallon has livebearers (i.e. swordtails, platy,) my 20 gallon has Tetras and have smaller 10 gallon tanks with bettas. I'm looking for some cool looking tank mates has this tank will be set up in my livingroom as display tank. Not saying my other babies aren't cool cuz I'm always watching them swim and even play with my betta, he like to follow my finger sliding against the tank lol. Any and all idea welcome. Thank you

 

Welcome to fishlore!! Nice size tank. I also have a 125 mine is 5’. Still same amount of water. I use a fluval fx6 and an odyssea 350 for my filters. For heating I have 2 finnex 300w heaters. I have 1 on both sides of the tank.
For fish there are just so many options. I keep discus in mine. You’ve got to look around and see what you like. Enjoy and ask questions .

 

Have you considered rainbowfish?

 

2 or 3 trios of pearl gourami with tons of tetras or rasboras, and at least 40 corries.

 

In my 125 I use a Fluval FX6, a Fluval 407 and a Marineland 400 HOB. For the heater I use a Blue line heater with the controller in all my tanks.

As far as fish, there are so many choices of what you can do. I personally love Angels and Discus.

 

I would suggest the Sunsun canisters fir filtration. They don't break the bank so two for that footprint. One on each half of the tank.

I have three Sunsun filters running with no troubles at all .

I suggest aqueon pro heaters.
