I would rehome your gold fish....You have two types of fish in there...cold water fish and tropical fish.

I like the layout of your tank.

thanks guys

my stock is

9 rosy tetra
7 congo tetra
2 weather loach, upping to 6
2 talking catfish
1 bnp
3 angelicus loach, upping to 6
1 black comet
1 big comet

ive had my big comet about six yrs, always mixed with tropical with no problems and shes perfectly happy, shes one of the family

the ship is made of lego, I wanted a big ship for that side and this 1 fits the bill, I'm going for an island beach look with a wreck just off the shore

I LOVE it! That ship is the centerpiece. Looks amazing.

Those Loaches made me it will be great when you add 3 more each. Silly fish.

thankyou

I looked for a ship for ages but never found 1 that floated my boat ( pun intended ) I wanted 1 with cloth sails so they moved in the current, also they were really expensive then I saw this for £5, about $8 so snapped it up

I must admit my fav`s are also the loaches especially the 2 weather loach (laurel & hardy) hears a short clip of hardy doing his thing

Hardy totally rocks. I want loaches but my cichlids would slurp them up like noodles.

thanks for the comments guys

ive just added 6 bosemans rainbows, for the 1st couple of hours all broke loose, everybody was chasing everybody but has settled down a bit now, still some chasing going on though, is this normal?

do you think I'm about stocked with the stock listed above? and the rainbows
dont want to be overstocked when all the fish have matured

x in advance

What a great tank! I love your goldie, beautiful tail on it. I'm no expert but I don't think you'll be overstocked at all. Good job!

thank you

want to add some jungle vals behind the ship to look like seaweed has grown round it but have learned my lighting isn't up to the job, hence the brown swords

will be upgrading to t5HO when funds are there

btw shasha says thanks to

hI guys

my other half has fallen in love with a couple of blood parrots at my lfs, could I have these in my tank with the stock ive got?
ive read they are peaceful and can live in a community tank but I do not know a lot about these fish

would my congo tetra and rosy barbs be to active for them and would my rosy barbs and angelicus loach be a meal for them as they are on the small side
x in advance

BPs get to be about 9-10 inches and even though they're labeled "peaceful" they are still cichlids. They will take territories and defend them. Your Congo Tetras and Rosy Barbs will be fine, they'll actually encourage the BPs to be more active in the tank. They can sometimes be very shy fish so that's a plus! Your rosy barbs will get about 5.5 inches full size, I'd actually worry more about your Congo Tetras becoming snacks. Overall they should be fast enough and if you get the BP's young that'll make a difference as well. I am really worried about the loaches though. Cichlids tend to slurp them down like noodles or I'd have 1 or 2 in my 60 gallon to stir up my sand. Again, it depends on the personality of the fish if you'll have any of these troubles. You might want to ask a mod to move these posts to the stocking forums where you'll be more likely to get additional advice!

Ken (aquarist48) would be the best person to confirm or add onto what I've said.

Very nice tank. Is this a cold water tank? (I see goldfish and small fishes)

Are those beach rocks? Our coast is full of those. I love the look w/ the little sand area. Nice contrast.

Jungle vals can grow in lower light. They would look good w/ the boat.

hI there

they are called tufta rock, over time some sort of algae has grown over them so they look like rocks from the bottom of the sea which is exactly what I wanted in that half of the tank, beach island 1 half and the coast off it the other half

can do the vals now as I have upgraded my lighting to t5`s

will look nice when its all matured

thanks for the nice comments guys

ive updated my lights now to a twin t5ho 54w 48" but I need some new tubes, am going for tubes with 6700k rating

I might have to have a rethink on the vals as I got 6 bunches for behind the ship and within 4 days my comet munched the lot only a few bits floating around, she really really liked the taste of them, she doesn't touch the swords though so might have to go with silk plants for behind the ship

any suggestions as to a broad leafed plant that looks like seaweed or kelp?

thanks in advance
