I am looking to upgrade from my current 6 gallon tank to a new 11 gallon (uk gallons not us). I will be using cycled media to get the rest of the tank cycling easier. I currently have 2 guppies, 4 pygmy cories ( lost 2 in quarantine ) and a sparkling gourami. What I was wandering is how would people expand on the stock in an 11 gallon?

While some people do keep guppies in an 18 inch tank, I really think they need 24 inches of length as they are very active. And pygmy cories really need more room as well. The sparkling gourami is ok. I would suggest upgrading to a 24 inch tank if at all possible and upping your cory count.

A 24 inch tank is not possible for me unfortunatley and so they would be in an 18 inch tank. Wish I could give them that amount of space but I really cant. :/

Presuming I can't get the 24 inch, what else do you think I could do?

I'd up the cories to at least 6. Then you could do a school of celestial pearl danios or something else similar
