10gal Desk Tank Build

Ok so this thread will be to kinda work thru my 10gal that is going on my desk (I reference desk as there are more 10gal's coming lol)

All the cords in the pic will eventually get cleaned up and organized better but until I get it planted I'm just kinda letting them hang where they will.

So far it is a 10gal tank
Black gravel
Aqueon HOB (100 GPH)
Heater
Air pump and stone
Grapevine wood
Lighing: 24inch T5HO Single bulb 24 watt

Plans are for a bunch of swords and javaferns to go into this tank as soon as they come in. Most likely some salvinia as a floating plant also

Inhabitants:
Currently one very young BN Pleco (Barely 2 inches long at time of post)
Currently 2 neons from another tank
Planned 10 Celestial Pearl Danios
Proably a snail for cleanup

Edit: just saw a random ghost shimp in the tank, have NO idea where he came from lol I don't have any in any tank thus far, guess I need to get him some friends now.

Thanks, gonna be a few weeks still, plants were just ordered (A VERY large order for all my tanks) so it may take 2-3 weeks to get things settled again. The CPD's my local store is looking into so that I don't have to drive an hour to the other nearest good store.

I have a great source if you ever need a lot of plants. I think I just ordered something like 240 plants.

ok so slight change of plans on the stocking with this one....

Well I was at the LFS today and talking with the owner he mentioned he was having trouble finding a reputable dealer for CPD's at the moment, well at a price that was also not obscene as he put it. So while we were walking around the store talking about salt water as I would like to start up a Saltwater tank, we were just walking the tank lines and discussing fish (this is why I love this place) and we got into the Fresh water area of the store. He mentioned he was happy to have found a good source for guppies again and had put in an oder for them. As I turned the corner I stopped, looked at him and said, just an order? (I was looking at 4 PACKED 30gal tanks lol). He told me that if I thought they looked good there I should see them in a show tank up front. So after a visit to the front of the store to check out the small tank that had 3 or so tiger guppies and a bunch of plants, I headed to the back of the store with one of his employees to find me some really nice looking ones lol.

So now the tank has 5 tiger guppies in it lol. All males, and they are great little fish. A lot of fun to watch and very out and about in the tank.

I did also plant the tank today as well, or at least started the planting. So far it has

5 assorted anubias (they have not been identified specifically just yet)
1 Java fern
2 melon swords
2 bunches of dwarf sword
2 Rosette swords
and a moss ball.

The fish are all quite happy to have the plants in the tank and are enjoying it especially the pleco, I think he has been out even more now that the plants are in.

Whoops forgot to update this thread when I took the Vid over the weekend, here is the updated vid

ok here we go, I took a vid of the tank, please forgive the tinny music as it was my computer monitor playing music as I don't have my good computer speakers at the moment.

In the tank are 6 Male guppies (labeled as tigers) 2 Neons and 1 Albino BN pleco, I can tell you he is most likely hiding behind the filter lol its his safe spot.

The guppy at the very beginning is my fav of the tank, he is the only one that has black edging around his pectoral fins. Looks really cool when he is swimming around. Sorry it didn't come out so good in the vid.

I think you just inspired me to turn my 15 gallon into a planted tank. I would do killifish tho. They interest me, don't know much about them yet. I will start my research

Thanks! Ill prob do a little more planting and a touch of rearranging in there this weekend at some point. The guppies are doing well, so far there are small spats but nothing serious just yet. One of them did split his tail not quite sure how but I am going to be keeping an eye on him just to make sure that some fin rot doesn't settle in.

But is he getting any work done?! I have a 2.5 w/ a pair of sparkling gouramis on my desk. I spend too much time watching them. (Actually, I spend too much time HERE!)
