Hey what's up everyone been lurking around for weeks now and this is one of my favorite forums! So since this is my first tank I went out and bought a cheap kit to begin with so I can learn about everything before moving on to better things.

So here's the memo:

-10 Gallon starter kit from Tetra
-Basic PF-10 Filter
-Stock Lighting (no more)
- 1-2 23w cfl bulbs 6500k
-Stock Heater (50Watt I think)

Fish:
Female crowntail Betta (moved to 2.5g)
3 Head/Light Tetras (Hemigrammus ocellifer) - rip
- 3 Fancy guppies
- 6 Harlequin rasboras
- 1 Rubbernose pleco

Welcome to the forum!

You have a very nice looking tank!

I see you don't have your aquarium info filled out. Please take some time to fill it out so that other members can help you if you ever have problems with your tank. You can get there my clicking "My settings" on the blue bar at the top of the screen and the click "edit aquarium info".

Also, is this tank cycled?

Hey, cool tank! I really like the contrast between that rock and your substrate.

So I went to the store to pick up some test kits and ended up buying some more plants! haha but I always forget the name once I get home -_-
Is it normal for the fish to keep swimming in the same spot for hours? My betta swims around and hides around the plants but my Tetras seem to be unhappy.

Here you go:

Welcome to the forum! I really like your aquarium!

The tetras probably need more as was said by the above post. I would get 2 more.

The female betta might be inspecting the new plants and that is why she has been around them for hours.

Are all of your water parameters in optimal conditions?

I replaced the tetras with 4 guppies due to being a dumb learner. Also yea I bought some frogbits and baby tears hopefully she will like it.
But I bought that TTS stuff and i'm waiting about 6 more days to test out my water to make sure its up to normal conditions.

Very nice!
What would really make it is if you made the background black! Painting it would be fine!
Love the tank

Nice tank. If you have guppies of both genders, get ready for that 4 to turn into hundreds pretty quick, haha.

Well haven't updated in a while due to being busy with school, work, and not having a good camera but here's an update from the iPhone.

Bought some rotala macandra, some glosso, more baby tears. Ever since I got my paintball co2 set up my plants been growing a lot do I trimmed most plants and replanted the stems also in my 2.5g shrimp tank.

Tanks everyone! I'll be taking some better pictures with another camera tonight or tmw been busy a little.

My 10 gallon has miracle grow organic potting soil with regular black gravel on top until I find some black sand. And my nano has miracle grow with white sand that I got at petsmart.

Yea after I posted those pictures I redid the whole 2.5g looks better now. Where I took the shrimps out also and put my betta in it.

For the 10 gallon I put my cherry shrimps which they love all the space and bought 6 harlequin rasboras
