Hey everyone, I've just finished my first tank ready for my Betta and Amano Shrimp. I was just looking for opinions or critique as I'm really new to this. Does this look okay for my new fish?

I have bogwood in the middle, two hiding spaces for the shrimp (driftwood and shrimp house tubes). Ive planted Amazon Swords, Java Fern (not the Rhizone) and Anubias Nana in substrate covered by black gravel. Theres also two moss balls for the shrimp to nibble from. Lastly is the Betta hammock top left for TobI to sleep on!

Any critique or advice is welcomed. Thanks.

Just wanted to say that your tank is beautiful Love the driftwood! The plants look really nice the way you have put them. Planted tanks are my favorite.

Thank you so much! That means a lot! I was so worried I'd done something wrong

It is very nice. Hopefully someone with more experience may tell you if there is anything wrong or not, but I just had to say how nice it looks.

OK first I think that it's a phenomenally well done tank for a first tank, BRAVO!

But since you've asked for critiques...
Bettas generally prefer their hammock a little closer to the surface (mine like it about 1.5-2 inches below the surface and be sure it's in the quietest and most low flow area of the tank.
I wasn't sure from your post, anubias also must keep the rhizome above the gravel or substrate, you can tie it onto a stone and press the stone level with the gravel just be sure the rhizome stays clear.
And lastly esthetically thinking as this is a great tank, you may want to move your heater as far into the left corner as possible so that it's not a big clunky distraction, your plants there should detract from it well and completely disappear it once they grow in.

Thank you for the kind compliment and critique. I will move the hammock higher! The Anubias are only lightly covered by gravel with the rhizone exposed. Concerning the heater, I had so much trouble getting the suction cups to stay on the side that I daren't move it again in case it falls off haha!

It'll get hidden mostly eventually! And I don't blame you a bit I currently have a heater that is a serious hassle! One suction cup has a bit of a seam like larger than normal but not large enough to remove or trim, and I blame that... Once I get it to stay I don't touch it again either lol

Beautiful tank! I would check the driftwood over for any sharp bits or your lovely Betta might rip his fins on them.
