I have a 100 watt submersible heater in my aquarium. I run my tank normally around 78 degrees. I lost 1 platy to ich last night and noticed immediately that two other platies are suffering from it. I just did a 30% water change with a light gravel vac. I have 3 guppies, 2 sunset platies and 6 neon tetras. Will the 100 watt heater be enough to get the tank to 86 degrees? I am planning on using heat and cleaning the tank to kill the ich. I do not want to use medications unless I am forced too. My tank is currently at 82 degrees (78-82 over the span of 7 hours). My dial is now cranked to the max. Thanks for the help.

How big is the tank? that will have a bearing on whether the heater can get the temp up & maintain it.

Edit: just noticed the size of tank in the title, yes it should be able to heat up the water ok
