    Hi All

I am new to the hobby and would really appreciate some advice. I have a 12 gallon/48L tank with one platy (the other one died :( ) and I am driving myself nuts trying to find out the best fish to add to my tank:confused: (which is small I know!).

I have used the aqadviser calculater which has suggested the following would be okay - but I wanted to check as from what I have been reading this maybe too many fish?

1 x Dwarf Gourami (Colisa lalia)
    2 x Platy (Xiphophorus maculatus)
4 x Dwarf Cory (Corydoras hastatus) re: the Cory's 4 was recommended as min but I am thinking this is too many for my tank??)

1 x Dwarf Gourami (Colisa lalia)
    2 x Platy (Xiphophorus maculatus)
5 x Neon Tetra (Paracheirodon innesi

    2 x Platy (Xiphophorus maculatus)
5 x Rummynose Rasbora (Sawbwa resplendens)
4 x Pygmy Cory (Corydoras pygmaeus)

Any advice/suggestions on the above would be greatly appreciated!

    Welcome to Fishlore!

Of the 3 stocking ideas, I think the dwarf gourami, 2 platy, and 4 dwarf cory would be the best.

Neon and rummynose tetra are pretty active, so 12 gallons may not be enough swimming space for them.

Another option would be to return the platy and turn your tank into a shrimp tank. Red cherry shrimp and tiger shrimp are two of my personal favorite shrimp species to watch.

We are glad you're here and congratulations for doing your research first!
