I've never done dry start before, hope planting cuttings is alright. I irrigated the aquasoil with distilled water as to not cause it to lose it's buffering ability prematurely.

If anyone can give me any advice on how long to leave lights on, how often I need to irrigate it, if I need to use CO2 or not after flooding, etc, I'd really appreciate it. May keep it unfiltered and want to keep crystal red or black shrimp in it.

Lowered the lighting intensity so it's easier to see.

If you have any live stock in the tank you will need a filter. The clippings might work but if they have been grown out submerged they could just die off.

Pretty sure it's emmersed growth, the tank has a glass top so it should maintain a high humidity.

I have a 3 gallon Walstad with no filtration and it has a thriving colony of shrimp, plants keep it pristine.
