Angelfish has ulcer on side of head

Welcome to Fishlore. I hope we can answer your questions here for you. Redapples21, could you let me know what your parameters are in your tank: Temperature, Ph, Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate levels. It would help possibly diagnose the poor Angelfish's condition.

Pineconed fish rapid breathing and some kind of fungus.

Just a word of warning. The test strips are very unreliable and there is no safe zone. If it says that it is misleading you. The only safe ammonia is a reading of 0 ammonia. That could be part of your problem. What do you nitrites look like?

    convict and angelfish?

When a convict spawns, they have been known to bring down an Oscar for threatening its territory. An Angelfish wouldn't have a chance against convicts. You could put some discus fish in with your Angel. They play well in tanks.

Tetra makes a Halo Guard product that they recommend for treating a broadscope of ailments including parasites. It is called Lifeguard. They recommend using it on quarentined fish on the directions of the package. I personally have used it to treat ick with great success (I know a lot of you...

Went to LFS and saw Ich in the tank

It does happen to us all. I happen to be treating a tank for ick as I type. But, I do take care to avoid it, and try to keep my fish healthy and treat it when it does happen. I think those are the stardards you need to base the store on too.

    Ammonia problem!

Welcome to Fishlore, and Keep those water changes up!!!! You have gotten great advise from some of the best people, so follow it. One thing you need to watch out for is the reoccurance of Ick. Once those spots are gone does not mean the ick is gone. Sometimes two or three weeks later, it can...

what is wrong with my two bettas? I've tried everything!

The oils in Melafix and Pimafix are so processed, that it is really not an "oil" anymore. If you poor either one over your hand, there is no oil residue. I have treated both bettas and gouramis with them and had no bad results. The manufacturors stand behind their claim that it is not bad for...

In my tank, my most exotic fish is a Bonsai Kilin Flowerhorn. I don't know if that qualifies for exotic.... probably not.
