What I have learned about angels so far... 2 per 4 feet of tank space might fit

In the home aquarium they school best as juvies simply because we can keep larger groups of juvies. So we see it more. And there is no sexual aggression. But from what I understand, in the wild they do live in schools. With pairs breaking away to spawn. (Again something they cant easily do in...

What I have learned about angels so far... 2 per 4 feet of tank space might fit

Here’s the thing though….angelfish are schooling fish. And they do best in bigger numbers. But since the average home aquarium can’t support a school of angels, they get stuck being kept in "groups" of 2-4. Which naturally increases aggression. Just like with other schooling fish. There are many...

    55 gal stocking. Want opinions.

I agree. I highly recommend 2 schools of 16 rather than 4 schools of 8. The behavior is sooooo worth it. It's better to look at (in my opinion) and much better for the fish. I also agree that the hillstream loaches should not be included. They have very specific care requirements.

Thanks Mike! I went to re-run my tests only to find "thread starter" everywhere and thought I was losing my mind. I figured you must be actively working on it! I also see the OP banner on the avatars :) I remember when you first added that feature. It was such a great addition because it was...

Well...the blue circle is not by my name in this thread. But it is by my name in my thread. So I assume it had to do with me being the OP in that thread. Maybe not?

Here is the scoop guys... "Thread starter" ONLY shows up in DEFAULT STYLE. and ONLY when using the desktop site. The blue circle indicating thread starter (in the screenshot I posted) only shows up in BLUE mode. So if you are accessing the site on your mobile phone (not the app) you can't see...

Can you share a screen shot?? I found this little blue circle on myself in my own thread. So I assume the blue circle is meaning I started the thread. BUT that circle only shows up in the blue format. I dont see it on the dark or light formats. And I dont see the words "thread starter" anywhere...

I just want to throw something out there. If it has already been said, I apologize. But two of the new reactions are "iffy" to me. Sad and Wow. Both of which could be used negatively as a reaction to terrible advice or terrible stocking decisions or something. Even "smart" could be used in a...

    Feeding baby brine shrimp?

Maybe try raising some type of freshwater shrimp as the food source? Would they eat frozen if it was warmed up a little first? Do you thaw it out really well before feeding?

    Feeding baby brine shrimp?

The op is asking what to feed the bbs to grow it into adult brine shrimp. They know how to hatch them and have done so successfully. :-)

    Feeding baby brine shrimp?

If its adult brine shrimp you need, I think you are better off just buying it. I believe it's pretty involved to raise brine shrimp. Probably not worth the effort in my opinion.

Question Please help me with my fair fish

Props to you!! A 75 gallon set up for a 10 cent carnival/feeder fish! That's pretty awesome. Most of those carnival fish are lucky to even get a filtered tank of ANY size. And their feeder fish counterparts....well we know what happens to them. Thats a lucky fish you got there!!

    Bizaliz3’s Angelfish Breeding Journal :-)

Got some cute pics of my 3-week-old smokey paraiba veil tail babies and their parents too. I'm super excited about them! My black koi pair proved to be the best first time parents ever. Their babies have been free swimming for a week. 25% were albino and I have them separated from the rest...

    Dwarf Crayfish Versus Crayfish

Dwarfs can be kept in a 5g. And they'd be a snack for a common goldfish. So...the 5g. And no, there are no white dwarf crayfish. Only orange, blue or grey or brown.

Question Will Males Bond With Multiple Females ?

The dynamics of angels is so unpredictable. I've seen videos of trios spawning together. I've never had it happen in my years of breeding though. Can you get good pics of each angel that you are unsure of and I can try and help verify sex. But really the only 100% accurate way to sex them is...
