We Made It Across The Us With Marchello

Hi, some of you probably remember me, some not. I have not been on in a long time. We moved from WI to WA state so I sold my 33g and gave away all of my fish and plants to a co-worker. I drained my pond and gave away my pond goldfish also. I was left with Marchello my mustard gas betta...

    What Is Going On??

Did you say you had access to methylene blue there? Kordon makes it. This thread is long so would you remind me the ingredients in the current medication?

    My 38 Gallon Diary

If it looks like cauliflower I would think its actually a growth of some kind vs a bacterial lesion but thats just a guess, the lip not so sure, if its the result of an injury I'd think it would be going down by now. With the different stuff going on in the tank you could treat it. If they've...

    Red Spot On New Cory

Based on the other's fins, I'd probably treat them both.

    Please Help My Betta?

I've seen bettas come back from far worse but it does get to a point of no return..... @RobinWhiskers if he's still treatable the medicine I recommended (back on June 3rd) and continue to recommend is one that we've had people use over and over again for these types of problems that need an...

Need Advice On Getting My Gh And Kh To The Right Levels

Great! It is so much easier then using equilibrium and you're right, doesn't make a mess. Glad you're feeling more confident.

    Sick Female Betta

Wow, impressive. How exactly did you do it? What size gauge needle? Did you anesthetize her first with something? Would love more information on that! Glad things are looking up. I'd wait and put them all back in together to spread out any new aggression among them.

Massive Hole In Nerite Snail's Shell

I'd get the cuttlebone and/or a calcium supplement. It will help him regenerate his shell quickly. Some people say their snails will crawl right up on the cuttlebone and munch on it.

Massive Hole In Nerite Snail's Shell

Yeah prime converts ammonia to ammonium for up to 48 hours. Whether its ammonia or ammonium is directly related to temperature and ph, I'll see if i can find a pic I like. I'd increase your 10g tank to at least a 30%WC and a 40-50% in your 5g. More clean water is always better.

    Red Spot On New Cory

In that small of tank I would probably change out 50% at least every other day. I'd mix up some water with the JFC and set it aside to use for your water changes so your replacing the same amount. Your other option is just to move him back to the main tank and treat them all at the same time...

Massive Hole In Nerite Snail's Shell

A PH of 8 is perfectly fine and I'd never use ph lowering products. They will just back fire on you. With a higher KH, at best they will temporarily lower ph but it will just buffer it and it will bounce back up which is very stressful for the fish and can lead to disease and death. Lots of...

    Harlequin Rasbora Bloated, Possibly Dropsy?

The nitrofurazone will turn your tank water a "lovely" shade of yellow/green and your plants won't like it but it is a very good medicine. It has never killed any of my plants though some lose leaves and they grow back. It should not hurt your bio-filter/nitrogen cycle. I'd do two, back to...

    Harlequin Rasbora Bloated, Possibly Dropsy?

Oh ok, based on that, I'd start with nitrofurazone and possibly also kanaplex later. It is most likely columnaris. You can find it in API Furan-2, Tetra Fungus Guard, Jungle Fungus Clear (Walmart sells this). I would treat the main tank honestly because It will most likely spread. Columnaris...

    Red Spot On New Cory

Oh good, glad you have that. I'd stop doing the melafix and if you have the time I'd do a water change before adding in the JFC. I think once he feels better, he'll start eating again but you could soak a few pellets in garlic juice and drop them down and see if he comes to get them. Garlic...

    Quarantined Goldie What Is This?

Thats a bummer. The betta revive treats only 5g (just fyi) so I'd order at least a couple. If you are doing 1g baths then you can make it last longer. You can do a large water change on Sunday (50%) if you feel its helping and then re-dose it. It is active in the water column for 4 days or so.

    Harlequin Rasbora Bloated, Possibly Dropsy?

Hi, With the lesion and bloating like that I am guessing they have either an internal bacterial infection or parasites or both. How has their poop looked if you have noticed it at all? Have you treated them or the tank at all with a parasite medicine? Would you describe the lesion? I didn't...

    My 38 Gallon Diary

That lip looks concerning, not sure I've see that before. It looks swollen. You may need to do antibiotics if it doesn't clear up. Does it look cottony at all or just swollen?

    Quarantined Goldie What Is This?

Yeah I wouldn't try it either! Ok, you should be able to find it hopefully. I'd do the one hour bath method or if you don't mind losing the cycle in the qt tank then you can dose it at regular dose in the hospital tank. I prefer it as a bath though I think because you double dose it so it has...
