I hate to differ there but planaria make their way inside their prey eating them from the inside out leaving the shell, theres also no definite triangle in the head in the photograph this is why I asked for further proof
that don't look like planaria but a few more pictures wont harm, also planaria will predate on shrimp and snails the problem you'll have if you get them is the treatment to kill them will also kill snails
Hi tinkerlink croeso welcome to fishlore
I think there is a relevance the fact these should have died off now for the winter, ive not seen any flies around for a few weeks, the chances are you've had a warm day and a hatch as taken place, these tiny flies although common with us I wouldn't...
Your gh is fine so no worries there your ph a little high for me but I know s lot here have it that high so you can rule that out as well so I think your looking at the big water changes causing the problem mixed with not the right temptation which as caused shock to the shrimp
Putting babies in a container will deffently kill them they may already have been shocked by moving them, if you haven't put them back already I would before it all goes bad, Ammanos wont hurt the in any way, just leave them to grow naturally and enjoy them
It was dead and on the bottom although its claimed 7ft passing two other tanks on it's way to get in, it dose strongly resemble a carpet beetle and as got the wife checking the vacuum cleaner to see if shes picked anything up lol shes panicking :nailbiting:
@david I'd have thought the shrimp may...
so what do you guys think of this i pulled it out on a water change, its not something i recognise this small. its come out of a shrimp tank that as had nothing added or taken away except water & food in 18 months or so
Looking very nice
Just to clarify your position and meds 1st incase it happens again the minute you see white starting in the tail remove the shrimp and photograph for us this is the important stage as the quicker you start the water change the better the results, 2nd if you can get hold of...
You'll have no problems putting two of these in your big tank they like current and a place to perch they are so peaceful you can put them in the smaller tank as well, this is a shrimp net with extendable handle and stiff net not to damage shrimp
