    Stocking Opinions

Personally I would just add more rasboras rather than another school. You could have 15 or so harlequin rasboras. If you wanted to add non-schooling fish you could look at GBR. What kind of cory do you have? Unless they are a particularly large type of cory you could add a few more of them too.

    Question Compatibility Help

Most of the fish you have listed are social fish and should be kept in larger groups. I would do fewer types of fish and keep more of the ones you choose. The pencil fish are schooling so 6 is the bare minimum but around 10 would be best. The Asian stone cats would also do best in a larger...

    60 Gallon Stocking

I agree that getting some more otos and stone catfish would be a good plan. You could have a look at pagoda snails. I don't know a lot about them but they look super cool.

Stocking For A 70 Gallon Planted, Centerpiece Fish

I would do a group of honey gouramis. Gender doesn't matter too much, even all males would be fine. Loads of options for tetras. I always think neons look pretty with the yellow of the honey gouramis.

New Set Up. Tell Me If I Am Wrong!

You could have both but they both stay near the bottom and can both be quite territorial. If the rams pair up they could be even more territorial. Plecos have quite a heavy bioload too so if you were to get one then it may be an idea to lose some other fish, wouldn't necessarily have to be the...

    Is This Dumb?

It would be if you stuck to very small fish. Have a look at pygmy hatchetfish, black winged hatchet fish, celestial pearl danios, gold ring danios, dwarf amber barbs, Mekong ricefish, dwarf medeka, dwarf pencilfish, strawberry rasboras, mosquito rasboras, ember tetras or green neon tetras for the...

29 Gallon Tank Stock Idea Will This Work?

I would just stick to one school and have around 12 of them. If you want more than one school then you could look at some smaller fish such as celestial pearl danios, gold ring danios, humming bird tetras, green neon tetras or ember tetras

New Set Up. Tell Me If I Am Wrong!

I would drop the pearl gouramis. They need a longer tank and prefer warmer water to the rest of your stock. The footprint of the tank is the bare minimum I would keep dwarf chain loaches in. You could still keep them and be ok but I prefer to give fish more room if possible so I would personally...

    Shrimp Tank Cycle

Welcome to fishlore! 1. Do you have a test kit for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? Are you adding any source of ammonia to keep the filter cycled? Shrimp do best in a mature tank with some algae and biofilm. They also need 0ppm ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. I would wait a few weeks until your...

    Is This Dumb?

Of course not, most people try to stock their community tanks with fish that stay in different sections of the tank. In a small tank (less than 20 gallons or so) you probably couldn't have 3 schools of fish but in a large tank it's entirely possible. Good bottom dwelling schools would be cories...

    Too Much For 75 Gallon?

I wouldn't get both since they are both quite large fish and should be kept in groups. 6 is the minimum but more is better. I would pick the boesmani rainbows. They like the warm water that GBR and rummynoses need. The barbs prefer 62-73f though they can handle a slightly wider range. I would...

75 Gallon Plan: Schools And Snails

I think in a 75 gallon you have room for 2 good sized schools and a few centrepieces along with some bottom dwelling fish. Obviously this changes depending on what kind of fish you have, their size, bioload, behaviour, attitude, etc all affect stocking.

75 Gallon Plan: Schools And Snails

Zebra danios are temperature compatible with many of the fish you've listed. You could do this at 72-74f 5 female platies 10-15 neon tetras, skirt tetras, Buenos aires tetras, bloodfin tetras, Odessa barbs, gold barbs or ticto barbs 10-12 Australian rainbows or zebra/leopard danios 15-17 panda...

    Baby Danio Stocking

My danios have been breeding again and I'm looking for advice on how many I can keep in a tank. I cleaned out my filter 5 or 6 days ago into a 5 gallon tub filled with tank water. Once all the muck had settled to the bottom I saw some babies clinging to the sides of the tub. I have moved 32 of...

    What Fish Can O Have

Welcome to fishlore! What are the dimensions of the tank? What kind of cory do you have? They are schooling fish so I would start by adding a few more of them. Keep in mind that flying foxes get to around 6" long and yours will need a larger tank at some point. I think you could add some small...
