    Nitrite in Cycled Tank?

Thank you. This must be what happened. Either this or the Prime was messing with the results slightly. The tank should build up enough BB soon enough I hope.

    Nitrite in Cycled Tank?

Ohh really, I did not know that. The fish seem extremely happy and aren't gasping for air or anything like that. My nitrite was .25 then I added prime and it went to 0. Not sure why prime is affecting affecting actual reading but.

    Prime Affecting Nitrite Readings

Yesterday I was getting 0 nitrite before adding prime and then 0.25 after. Today I just tested and got .25 nitrite and then added prime and got 0. I heard about API not being accurate for Ammonia but not for nitrite. My fish are acting completely fine aswell. Just added them via drip...

    Nitrite in Cycled Tank?

Okay, it actually just went down to .25-.30 so I might just leave it be. Also my PH goes down to 6.8 during CO2 so I'd imagine that is even less toxic to fish. Thanks for your input!

    Nitrite in Cycled Tank?

Okay will do. And the prime should hold them over in the mean time correct?

    Nitrite in Cycled Tank?

Hello, I just recently finished cycling my 7 Gal Planted tank. The ammonia and nitrite were successfully converting 2ppm ammonia to nitrates and showing as 0 within 24 hours. Also I'm sure I built up a big enough colony since my soil has leeched ammonia which has been being converted constantly...

    Nitrite in Cycled Tank?

Will do. Really has me stumped because everything was working perfectly and my nitrite was being converted in less than 24 hours but when I added 5 endlers to my 7 gal I'm starting to see nitrites.

    Nitrite in Cycled Tank?

I've heard about it giving false positives with ammonia but I've only seen one person say it does the same with nitrite. Do you have personal experience with nitrite false readings aswell?

    Nitrite in Cycled Tank?

Hello, My tank has finally cycled and is successfully converting 2ppm ammonia to 0 ammonia and nitrites in 24hrs. I just did a 40% water change with my tap water that had 0 nitrite or ammonia and added some prime. I then tested the water and it says I have 0.25 ppm ammonia and nirite. Is it...

    Whats happening to my S.Repens

The Tropica Specialized actually the green one. I think the Tropica Plant Growth is the brown that is lacking nitrogen and Potassium. I'll believe I should give 2 doses per week. Thanks for the info btw!

    Whats happening to my S.Repens

I had some other SRepens that melted and it occurred much faster than this. So it must be something small. Any suggestions on how how increase water flow? I have an Aquaclear 20 on my 7 Gal. And the CO2 looks like it gets dispursed quite well and Ive seen a massive amount of new growth over the...

    Neon Tetra Parameters

Oh really, I've seen many other planted nano aquascapes with them. I guess I'll have to look into another fish. Thank you

    Neon Tetra Parameters

Okay thank you I'll have to find a nano heater and think about adding some snails instead. Do they really need a heater if my tank is a constant 68-72 even during cold days. I know that in their natural environment they can sustain cold winters where the average temperature stays much lower...

    Neon Tetra Parameters

Hello, I'm planning on picking up some neon tetras for my 7 Gallon tank. Since they are a schooling fish, would around 6 be good. I'm planning on adding 2-3 Otocinclus aswell. My water stays around 68-70 degrees and my PH goes from 6.6 - 7.4 since I have CO2. Any suggestions?

    Whats happening to my S.Repens

I've already had 3 melt and they looked different than this. They have been in for about 4-5 weeks now. I have CO2 aswell so melting is much less common

    Whats happening to my S.Repens

Half of my TC S.Repens have died and these have been surviving and thriving since I added CO2. Just recently noticed the plants are curling and partially turning brown in some spots. Is this diatoms? I tried removing it to no avail. I've been dosing Seachem Flourish 2 times a week and I have...

Cant tell how much Nitrites I have

Okay awesome I was just worried about stalling. I don't care how long it takes I just want to be sure it will cycle someday. Thank you so much for your help

Cant tell how much Nitrites I have

Alright, I though over 5ppm nitrate will stall a cycle though?

Cant tell how much Nitrites I have

I might just wait to add the co2. I diluted my nitrite test and got 2.0+ nitrite even though I only put in 1/4 aquarium water and the rest tap. Should I continue on the cycle or do a water change.

Cant tell how much Nitrites I have

Okay sounds good, I believe the fluval stratum leeches ammonia for awhile so that and the decaying plants have been feeding the bacteria. I'm adding CO2 to start some carpeting plants and help my other plants grow faster and stay healthier. The tank should cycle fine even if the PH goes down to 6?
