i have to replace the seal on the impeller motor unfortunately i can't get the seal here until thursday at the earliest will my fish survive if i leave the bio in the tank with and air pump and some water changes???
for me and this is just my opinion but i wouldn't go any smaller than 125 gallon for all three depending on wich pleco you ended up with
no an oscar doesn't need a tank mate to be happy
bare minimum would be 55 gallons but to make him comfy 75
hopefully i can help you a bit here
1 most water conditioners work instantly however just to be sure check the back of the bottle and it should tell you
2 i would probably leave it.. if it's not that dirty i wouldn't worry much about it
3 i really have no experience with it so i can't...
ok here we go
1. i aint so good at cel but i would go 26 to 28
2 for decor the oscars will let you know what they like and dislike lol i would stay away from anything that has sharp or pointy edges though
3 as long as the ph is stable they will do just fine
4 because of there size...
if your friend doesn't have the time to take care of the fish he already has why is he adding more fish???? frankly if it were me i would tell him to either sell you the setup of you have the money or tell him to find somewhere else to keep it
Best of luck with that setup i really hope you can make it work.... only because your chances having your oscars pair up is probably scarce so you may have some aggression to deal with between those two... now your oscars should happen to pair off i feel really sorry for that dempsy cause its...
That's not entirely true. Some oscars handle weak water better than others. Some even die in weak wAter try looking for bn in more ma and pa store rather than chain store. If I knew how to ship fish I would send you one of mine
if you have your heart set on a pleco you can go with a smaller variety... i have a bushy nose pleco in with my two oscars now of course it would be best if you could find a larger bushynose for this as there growth rate is no where near what an oscars is and give the bushy nose lots of places...
90 gallon tank be great for one oscar and some smaller tank mates! but for two oscars you would need atleast 120 gallons and alot of luck!! if your thinking live plants dont your oscar will just trash em in no short order lol plastic plants hold up but have put back as it were although this...
Actually the net trick works quit well with other aggressive fish changing things around in the tank can also help you may have to put the fish in the net (please make sure your fish gets plenty of waterflow) several times for it to work... but if adding more females will do the same i would...
