I know limestone is safe for aquariums but I was wondering if it would be safe for my aquarium? The range I need my parameters at is 6-8 pH with 5-15 dH my current water parameters (there’s no fish or plants in it currently) are 7.5 pH and 120 for both the GH and the KH. I was wondering if...
Hello, I’m getting my fish next week so to prepare I’m trying to get everything figured out. I’m quarantining my fish in 5G buckets and they’re tropical fish, I don’t think my heater would fit in the bucket nor do I trust it to not melt the plastic so how would you suggest I heat the bucket? My...
I’m getting fish in a couple of weeks and I’m getting worried about one of the species being able to eat the other. I plan on getting peacock gudgeons (get about 3 inches) and Asian rasboras AKA rummy nose rasboras (smaller than rummynose tetras) the rasboras only get about an inch and I’m...
This question is for future reference, I want to be prepared in case my tank needs chemical filtration. Is there a way to run some chemical filtration like carbon or purigen with only sponge filters filtering the tank?
I'm going to have two sponge filters in my tank. I was wondering since I have two, would it be ok to rinse one sponge in aquarium water (as needed) during water changes? That way not all of the beneficial bacteria would be rinsed away.
About one half (the right side) of my tank is going to be a sandy beach, not much you can do to hide it there. Unless I hide it behind a rock formation, one species going in the tank needs places to hide to feel comfortable.
I was originally gonna do two sponge filters in my tank but I want a natural look so I was gonna do one sponge filter and hide it in the planted part of my tank (I'll be carful to not let anything grow too close to it), but I need another filter in there since the sponge will most likely go into...
Thanks, how do I know if adding the next group would be too much for the tank? I want to wait a longer period of time before adding the endlers, how would I know if adding them would make the bioload too much for the setup to handle?
