Albino threadfin acara with my cories

I bought 7 of them as Adolphois from my LFS. Since then, they have spawned and I have raised 10 young ones which are still semi-juvies you see there. I think they are all Adolphois.

Albino threadfin acara with my cories

Yes I plan on getting them into their own tank with the six red head Geophagus Tapajos that I also have growing out with my super Schwartzi cories….. I love these types of Geophagus cichlids because they are very docile and nice toward other fish. They do have red eyes I think.

Albino threadfin acara with my cories

Well I took the leap and finally was able to get two baby Albino Threadfin Acara otherwise known as albino Heckelii Geophagus cichlids. They are my dream fish but my LFS could only get 5 juvies and only two of the five looked nice. They are very peaceful and can live with cories. Here are the...

    Favorite Cory food?

Also, get a pastel and mortar and grind up your hard pellets. The cories will like them much more.

Four Geophagus Tapajos Red Heads joined my Eques/Super Schwartzi cories tank

i picked up four juvie Geophagus Tapajos (red head earth eater cichlids) this afternoon at the 9th anniversary birthday bash for OSA Aquarium Shop in Coventry RI. The livestock were all 20% off and I saw these awesome cichlids and had to get them. They are relatively small and young and very...

    Favorite Cory food?

I used Repeshy gel food goldfish and solvent green blends, omega one catfish pellet, extreme nano pellets, Hikari vibra bites, Northfin mini pellets, Hikari veggie pellets, shelled boiled peas, frozen blood worms, frozen brine shrimp, and frozen daphnia. I feed two times a day. I just rotate...

Trying out my Sterbai and fancy goldfish community

Nope I don’t have any oranda. What you see are the crown pearlscales. Also even if I had orandas I wouldn’t worry. Some of the best goldfish in the world come from thailand where wild bettas are from….they are hatched and grown outside in big ponds where the water temp rises past 80 f under the...

Trying out my Sterbai and fancy goldfish community

Yes you are right generally but fancy goldfish like the pearlscales that I have are actually happier and healthpier as far as digestion goes in warmer water. The temp is 77 F which is good for pearlscales and fine for my sterbais which happily spawn in that temp.

Trying out my Sterbai and fancy goldfish community

I moved 11 of my young Sterbai cories that were bred here into one of my goldfish tank. They seem to like swimming around the chubby goldfish. I moved the tank temp to 77 F. I want to split my massive Sterbai group into three colonies, each with at least 11 or 12 fish. I still have more fry...

    New Bearded Cories

Thank you so much for the info. Yes, I know their name is no longer Corydoras but I’m too lazy with the new name starting with the S so just used their old Cory name. I tried to pick out an even number of males to female but I have 7 of them already. I can also get a few more in the next few...

    New Bearded Cories

Hi, I just sold 20 juice sterbai cories to my local fish store and used the credit to buy 5 Barbatus cories. The pics are horrible but these guys are only about 1.5 inches so they’ve got a long way to go until adult. But I love their big snouts and they can live with my goldfish in cooler...

    40 Gallon Tank Ich Help

Basically the API and Hikari brands of Ich treatments use the same formula and so if you closely follow the instruction, your cories should be ok. I would put in an extra airstone in the tank and make sure that the oxygen level through water agitation is maximized. Watch your fish closely...

    Corys eating plants

I wouldn't worry about one leaf melting if I were you. If it bothers you, then just snip it off, which you did. Your anubis is gorgeous and the tank is very nice looking too by the way. The Trilineatus cories (which I cannot see in the pics) are not destroying your tough anubis!!!! They don't...

    Best Cory Cat for Beginner?

I think Sterbais are easy to care for and they are generally more expensive than the pepper and the albino and the bronze because they are more sought after. So if you are a good diligent fish keeper and do your weekly water changes, take care to provide high quality foods and make sure you...

    False Julii Hardiness?

Trilineatus were my first cories I ever kept and I still have the original 7 that I got almost two years ago. They are chubby, a bit shy, eat a lot and spawn easily in the Java moss. I haven’t collected any of their eggs as I have do many Sterbai eggs to deal with. They are very pretty cories...

    False Julii Toxin?

I think your other fish will be fine. Honey Gouramis are great fish. I would just ask the store to give you extra large bags and ask them to bag only a few cories in each bag. You can even offer to bring your own big bags and have the store use them for your fish. But seriously I would not...
