I could'nt find anything online which helps clear a question I have on the Tropica Specialized nutrition.
I recently bought a 125 ML bottle (about 30 days ago) for my nano tank and have noticed it has gone quite dark. From a light bright green color it has turned to a very dark green...
Hi Everyone, so i've had him (my daughter calls him Blue) for almost 8 months now and have always thought it was a boy.
I've never experienced him making any bubble nests and one of the reasons also when i showed a video of him to the guy in my LFS called him out as being a girl actually.
80 Gallon heavily planted
Been Running for 3 months now
Temperature maintained at around 28C
Got 3 angels, 1 swordtail, 2 zebra danios
Weekly water changes ¬50% and i do vaccum the gravel
Using Prime everytime
Parameters - Very Important
I'm completely clueless and lost as to what just happened to my danio.
80 gallons planted
Nitrates 20 ppm
Inhabitants: 3 Ghost anglefish, 1 female sword, 2 danios (from 3 now) & 3 small nerite snails
I went about doing absolutely nothing different...
I added two hillstream loaches 4 days back, so far zero luck with feeding them, they just don't react to pellets/blood worms/sinking pellets/blanched cucumber nothing.
The two angels (hogs that they are) just gobble everything up, whatevers left is taken care of by the 4 danios...
My 80 gallon tank (minus substrate and plants it should be around ~70-72 gallons) has been running for about two months now, fully cycled and planted, houses a single female swordtail and 3 zebra danios since start.
My source water has a pH of around 8.2 and making the choice of...
This just started happening to one of my ludwigia stems recently, the rest of the plants are doing well.
It's a low tech planted tank with soil but no CO2 nor any fertilizers.
What could be causing this.
Should I remove it entirely or cut out sections of the plants where the stem is...
My tap water/source water is fairly hard with a TDS of ~280. Has a high level of calcium in it, you can literally see crazy water marks as the water evaporates from the tank & even from the surfaces where the water may have dripped whilst doing maintenance.
From the limited research...
Wanted to share the progress of one of my new tanks that i've just started. This thread is dedicated to 2nd of four that i've recently started.
Going for a planted tank with CO2 (however will be activating CO2 in a few weeks to come)
Tank size: 80 gallon long (ever so...
Appologies if this has already been addressed somewhere, ive been reading a lot through the various posts on this forum and/or other forums as well.
Needless to say its getting far too confusing for me and need your help.
For simplicity im going to use the example of one of my tanks...
Wanted to share the progress of one of my new tanks that i've just started. This thread is dedicated to 1 of four that i've recently started.
Tank size: 30 gallon long (ever so slightly bigger than that)
Dimensions: 36 x 12 x 18 inches
Seeding media was not available...
I'm in the process of setting up two new tanks....both 60in x 18in x 18in.
I leveled the stand prior to filling it up with water, assured myself after filling the tanks with water as well and it was perfectly levelled.
Now here's the issue, after adding the soil and decor which is left...
Just something that i've been noticing quite a lot these days and couldnt really find the relevant discussion on the forum.
So my brother built a fairly large sized aviary in our backyard a couple of years back. He's got a mix of some zebra finches and cocktails in it, they're...
Got a quick question.
First pic, Limnophila sessiliflora , would it be ok if i cut the stem to replant it in the gravel?
Second pic, Ludwigia repens, same question. Ok to cut from the stem to replant elsewhere in the tank?
Here's the picture of the whole tank (only been running for...
I've been keeping fish for some time now but somehow never got into the whole live plants thing given the nature of my job and having to move around a lot.
Always thought i would'nt be able to cope up with their maintenance etc.
So i've finally decided to start experimentation and...
I've had my 4 BPs for 8 years now accompanied by their best friend OskI the oscar (not so creative eh )
I got all of them at the same time and have never had any problems.
Over the last few weeks one of my BPs started resting on the bottom a lot, he darts to the surface at feeding...
One of my neighbors and I got our parrots from the same store about 7 years ago, his is the only inhabitant in his 35 Gallon tank since then.
I have 6 in a 125G and over the years have grown huge roughly 7" long and quite stubby.
His has grown to a max of about 4"....he was surprised...
So the winters have finally hit us and I am foreseeing a problem here. My house is under renovation and that means a lot of circuits in the house have been torn down to make room for new walls etc.
That being said my green terror tank will be without electricity for the next 3~4...
Just wanted to share my findings from an experiment that I did with my 40 gallon tank.
My readings on 2nd August 2012:
Now doing water changes every week did help but it also meant that the nitrates always hovered in the range of 40ppm.
Went ahead and started planting the...
Here's another proof of why you should never trust test strips to measure your water chemistry.
Here's a set of test strips from SERA and these are the test results:
Nitrite: 0.25 ppm
Nitrate: 5 ppm
Just 1 min later these are the results with API Freshwater test kit...
