What is this growth on live rocks?

It’s a natural part of the cycle process, dinoflagellates. It easily scrubs off but as the tank matures a little itll disappear on its own.

Best Small Fish To Cycle A Saltwater Aquarium?

Skip the fish in cycle and pick up a fresh pieces of table shrimp and let that do the cycling for you. Or get a bottle of Dr. Tim’s ammonium chloride works like a charm very simple. Fish in cycles are horrible for the fish.

    Starting a salt water tank

It’s not much harder than fresh. However, you need to maintain water quality regularly through testing and maintenance. I wouldn’t start with anything smaller than 30gal for salt for the simple reason salt is less forgiving then freshwater and the smaller the tank the more difficult and time...

    Seawater

Not to mention the potential parasites and disease you may introduce that otherwise may not have gotten into your tank if mixing your own clean water.

Well you already overcame the first big mistake all first timers make you went with the big tank over a small tank. More water volume more forgiving.

    75 Gallon Vs 90 Gallon

I had a 90 that popped a leak after about 10yrs of use. Got a 75 as a replacement as it’s all I could get in a pinch. Wish I had a 90 again the extra 2” is noticeable when looking at the tank. The added space and water volume will help.

I made one of those as well but the cheap LEDS got to hot and caused the canister to crack. I turned my AC110 into a HOB refugium instead.

I have a canister on mine if you keep on top of it you’ll be fine. I have a FOWLR tank though not a reef.

    75 Gallon Sw Build

I got a smaller 8wat unit that doesn’t fill the whole room with light lol. Also gives off way less heat too.

    75 Gallon Sw Build

I currently have this hanging over my AC110 refugium. Think it’s overkill? Worried it may “burn” the chaeto.

    Stocking 72 Bowfront

Chromis don’t stay that small when fully grown your looking at 4” a fish so considering the size I wouldn’t really go for school fish. Not many “schooling” fish in your size range that would work.
