55 Gallon Tank How to aerate a tank without an air stone

I bought these and I was pretty upset when they weren't working due to high flow. So I just used one around the output of the air stone.

55 Gallon Tank How to aerate a tank without an air stone

I recently bought some water wisteria that I was planning on using as a floating plant. It is still in it's infancy, lots of small plants, but I added it to my main 55 gallon tank today after growing it up for 3 weeks. I also bought 3 of these floating corrals for them. Unfortunately, the flow...

oh I'll try it overnight, perhaps that'll work better. Rotala and bacopa should be able to take it.

    55 Gallon Tank Underwater Caterpillar

Yeah I love it too, but obviously it doesn't kill caterpillars which are more destructive to my plants than snails or other common pests What's your alum procedure by the way? I've been doing like 4 tablespoons per gallon for 3 hours

    55 Gallon Tank Underwater Caterpillar

Perhaps one was more developed than the other. I have 4 peacock gudgeons which harassed and killed my nerites and of course they don't go after these caterpillars. I think I'll try to hunt it before it kills my vals, hopefully they don't burrow! Edit: definitely using bleach > alum next time I...

    55 Gallon Tank Underwater Caterpillar

The last time I got a plant was like a month ago though. Is it likely to be a hitchhiker or something laying eggs in my tank. I used to have a drain fly issue in my plant only tank but nothing survives with my fish.

    55 Gallon Tank Underwater Caterpillar

A few weeks ago, I found this (in picture) caterpillar thing attached to my glass in a small cocoon of java fern leaves held together by some sticky silk. This discovery was preceded by a week or so of perfectly healthy jungle val being torn off and floating at the surface. I killed the...

55 Gallon Tank Sterilization for Jungle Val, Anacharis, & Java Moss

Recently bought these 3 types of plant. I was going to a salt dip followed by an H2O2 dip for each of them. Would this method of sterilization work for these plants, especially the java moss because I know mosses can get weird.

55 Gallon Tank Sudden 2 platies dead

In my experience, platies are pretty weak fish overall, perhaps some bacteria in the tank usually tolerated by others got to them.

10 Gallon Tank Is This Columnaris?????

it could be from the rocks, just scraping against them while they burrow since I imagine the head is the driving force in burrowing. What kind of fish are they?

10 Gallon Tank Is This Columnaris?????

How long has it been going on? Columnaris is a very fast killer. Also my eyes are bad and I can't quite see what's going on in the picture.

5 month old flowerhorn started pooping white poop

What do you feed? Typically the stomach sinks in if it's a parasite. A very similar thing happened to me with a gourami I have, turned out to be constipation, it swelled up, didn't move, clear poop, and lasted about a week then it acted normal. Was there anything you did that would have...

5 month old flowerhorn started pooping white poop

If it's every once in a while white poop there's no issue, but if its every day for 2 weeks it's likely a problem. Did you change anything in your tank recently that would introduce a parasite? Any other symptoms besides the poop and not eating, i.e. swelling?

How does a Marino moss ball grow?

probably a liquid fert, I wouldn't trust an entire root tab to not just spray into the water and cause an algal bloom.

    Nitrates depleted faster than expected

probably here. Only place the nitrates really could go unless you're growing the bacteria that turn NO3 into N2 haha.

Fish keep dying in similar manner

Do you have an air stone? Could be low oxygen. Alternatively may be chlorine if you're not using enough dechlorinator. What kind of fish do you have?
