I do not stop the filters at feeding. I have two filters and adjust the smallest as far down as it will go. I put food in that front corner. I only feed once per day in the morning. I give brine shrimp occasionally.
TetraMin makes a food called Tropical Crisps. They float until the fish...
I always lean on a little to big as far as filters go. I run a AC 50 and 70 in my 40 gallon.
I do 50% water changes weekly. My water is always crystal clear.
If I were you, and your tank is clean like you said, I would remove and replace as much water as possible.
I would remove from the tank...
Buy the stand that fits your tank. When I got my 40 breeder I bought the stand for that tank.
Perfect fit. They make stands for all tank sizes.
Mine is real nice with leveling feet. Leveling feet are my first requirement on future tank stands. Makes set up easy.
Also when using the correct...
At minimum using the HD stand, I would secure it to the wall. I would not trust it personally.

Seachem's instructions say to add 2 cap fulls of Stability on the first day. Then 1 cap full for 6-7 days thereafter.
The instructions also say that fish can be introduced immediately after starting the addition of Stability.
So, do you trust Seachem? Thats the question you must ask yourself.
I don't really need a heater in the summer. Also my tap water is perfect as far as temperature.
I would unplug the heater and use it when it gets cold outside.
For me to have my heater on this time of year does not make much sense.
I pull it out, clean it and store for cooler weather.
Agree. I clean my glass hood every time I do a water change. I just wipe it off on both sides.
Then when the area near the bubbler stone gets real hard to remove I also use a razor blade.
Wiping it down regularly is the key.
I always keep my tank topped off. So bubbles do hit the glass.
