i have been dreaming about this, and now i will finally have the space for it
but i need to keep the research, because if carsonsgjs is correct and they can't go less than 24ºC than i will not try it.
:D :D :D :D thanks for the hint ;)
i guess i will try it (i still have to wait a...
thanks carsonsgjs and Spudsssy
carsonsgjs what do you mean by "decent temperature" and "has high enough temperatures"?
because is about the proper temperature i'm having trouble to find out.
Spudsssy there are no lakes around here.
note: i forgot to mention, i live in Cape Verde (a tropical...
can african cichlids be kept in outdoor ponds?
i'm having hard time finding about the temperature range (it varies from source to source), so maybe someone here have done this and can give some opinion
note: on youtube i found about kamp kenan cichlid pond but it did not mention about...
One think that helps is point the output toward the top (to the water surface).
This is how i use my power head on my cichlids tanks. I place it it the middle so the water is displaced on all directions.
Note: you just need to lower the powerhead position so it does not throw water out of the tank
if the water you use on your tanks is acidic. Maybe you should stop trying to "chase" that perfect ph and get fishes that live on that ph range you already have.
Changing and maintain ph might not be that simple. and you might end up doing more harm than good.
too bad he died
Although inbreeding is part of nature, it does affect certain genes and weak the species as a result.
guppy's are crazy breeders and are very "prone" to inbreeding and therefore become weak.
How old is your guppy? They don't have a large lifespan, i guess around 2 years, and with cross breeding it might be even less.
I might get "hit" for this, but...
Maybe we should stop doing water changes just because "i do x % every week"
We might be hurting our fishes
maybe you have excess of nutrients, or your tank is not yet fully established.
beware of excess feeding. other than that, just give your tank time to establish itself.
edit: add more plants. natural plants will only help your tank.
The way i have been learning is that you (we) need to...
couple more questions:
1 - should the input be on top, or is ok if i left it on the bottom?
2 - is there a standard or minimum size for the chambers?
3 - is there a minimum distance for the two pieces of glass that separates the chambers?
4 - does the chamber with deep sand bed for...
ok, but i will not happen, the tank is 50 centimeters high (the tank is 100 x 50 x 50 cm), i'm planning to make the sump 30 cm high (30 x 30 x 10 cm)
another question: do i need to place some "holder" to keep the medias from blocking the bottom!?
like in this picture:
