    Setting Up A 50g Tank

So, I got a 50g tank and am looking for some good recommendations on what filters and heaters to get for it. I'm very excited since this will be my biggest tank I've kept. Also, if anyone has an suggestions on what fish to stock it with, please feel free to share. I'm thinking about maybe...

    Fish Dying Suddenly

I think they were in with some type of tetra. I don't totally remember tho. Honestly, this is my first community tank (I usually just keep Bettas) so I didn't even think to quarantine them when I brought them home. Is it possible for them to have an illness from that long ago just now affecting...

    Fish Dying Suddenly

You're fine. Ask away. I'm extremely confused by this situation. I got them from Petco and they were not donation fish.

    Fish Dying Suddenly

No attacks. The only other fish in there with them besides the snails is the upside down catfish, but he stays away from them. All the other fish are seemingly healthy. And the 3 that died weren't acting any different before I found them. I've had them between 3-4 months now.

    Fish Dying Suddenly

So, in my 20g, I had a dwarf gourami with five Harlequin Rosboras, a mystery snail, a nerite snail, and an upside down catfish. I lost my dg because he jumped out of the tank and I noticed too late. However, it has been about two to three weeks since then and I haven't added any new fish...

    Smallest tank for shrimp

I might wait for the dollar per gallon sale like Alliebaaba said. I'm like you, I'd probably find it hard not to add a betta. I love them so much. I currently have one in a 5g, but am nervous about adding shrimp in case he eats them. He already has a mystery snail in with him that he eyes a lot...

    Smallest tank for shrimp

I've been wanting to set up a nano planted tank and thought about adding some shrimp (not sure which kind), but I was wondering what size tank would be good. I wanted to do either a 1.5g or 2g. If those are too small for shrimp, are there any little fish or other aquatic things that woul dbe...

    Jumped out of water!

I wasn't looking to get anymore fish when I got him since I just had my betta of 2 years die from a tumor, but I kept my tank set up for my snails. I went into my pet shop to get things for my dog and hamster, and decided to just go look at the fish. Honestly, the fish keeping hobby is...

    Betta for My Mom

I would say that 2.5g isn't the worst thing to keep a betta in especially if it is a more relaxed bettas, but you also have to keep in mind that adding a filter and heater and live plants, will quickly fill up all the swimming space for the little guy. I know you said she won't go bigger, but it...

    Jumped out of water!

Hey, everyone, I went to go do a water change today like Fisheye suggested before going to get some stress coat, but Sweet Potato did not make it through the night unfortunately. Thank you for your help, it was much appreciated.

    Jumped out of water!

Thank you everyone for the replies! Unfortunately, my local pet shop is closed until 10 am so I cannot get the Stress Coat. Hopefully, Sweet Potato will make until until tomorrow. I don't want to try the salt if it can be bad for snails and shrimp as I have both. I'll keep y'all updated!

    Jumped out of water!

So, I was scooping some extra food out of my tank and rested the net to dry between the hood part that lifts up (I do this all the time when I use the net). The actual hood was only open maybe an inch or two. Anyway, my DG jumped out of the tank onto the floor. I don't know how long he was out...

    Very Hard Water

I'm the same way. I feel bad for the last one because he has to be stressed out over having no buddies, but I don't want to bring more home just to have them die . I have noticed though that my DG is letting the cory swim with him. Its been really cute usually they just left each other alone...

Okay, Give it To Me Straight - Too Many Fish or Not?

For the snails, if you've brought home any live plants recently, they may have hitched a ride. It happened to a friend of mine. I'm not completely sure how long snails can hold eggs or how long they take to hatch.

    Pacing front of the tank

So, I've had bettas in the past pace a wall of the tank, but they'd only do it a few times and move on. Usually it was the back of the tank and when they did it too often, I'd move the decorations around and block the back wall. However, my new betta (I've had him about a week) does nothing but...

Very hard water to very soft water

I'm not sure about the water differences, but for moving the old water what I did when I moved was buy some of those big blue water jugs empty and put the old water in it for the move so there was no splashing in the car and it'll be easier to keep more of their old water when transitioning to...

    Very Hard Water

They are Panda Corys. No red gills that I saw, but I do have the snails and they made quick work of the bodies before I noticed. Also, none of my fish have been gasping or showing other signs of ammonia poisoning. That's why I thought it could have possibly been the hard water. I used to have a...

    Very Hard Water

So, I had to order a new aquarium test kit because I ran out. All I could get was strips that are a bit hard to read, but these new ones show how hard my water is. All other parameters are normal and good. 0 nitrate. 0 nitrites. However, the hardness of my water is crazy high, like, as high as...
