I gave him a go. He gave a few brief chases of the rasboras/shrimp and poked my bristlenose once as well.
Feel he is too much of a risk as I believe he will hunt more at night so he is by himself in a small bowl while I work out a plan. Very cool little guy.
Thanks for the feedback. Not sure I want to risk my fish, might try to cancel it if I can
FYI the description on the site I got it from was a generic one that didn't make it sound any more dangerous than a red cherry shrimp.
Definitely should have read up more.
I just ordered a long arm shrimp to go in my 25g with galaxy rasboras and honey gourami.
I just did some reading and now I'm worried the shrimp will eat/kill the rasboras and maybe even the gourami.
Macrobrachium Australiense is the exact species, I only ordered one as I thought it looked...
Just moved some things from a 10g into a 25g tall.
I'm pretty bad at planning out tanks so any ideas to improve things would be appreciated.
Currently have 1 honey gorami, 9 galaxy rasboras and 5 cherry shrimp. Want to add a bristle nose and a couple of honey gorami a(unless these are...
One of my CPDs developed this white lump/spot a few days ago. It's still eating however it is swimming on its side a little.
Never had any problems so no idea what to do. I don't have a quarantine tank either, just the one 10g
API master kit.
Changed it before it died (although I didn't specifically look and it was partly hidden under driftwood, plenty of space all around it so not stuck)
There are also 10 celestial pearl danios in the tank.
One thing I forgot is the hot summer means tank has been around 80 to...
I just found one of my two honey gourami dead, no clear idea why. No obvious injuries or anything I could see and the other gourami (the male) seems happy.
Ammonia is 0, nitrite 0, nitrates 5 (did I water change 5 hours ago). pH 7.6.
A plastic plant was replaced with a real ones a week ago...
I have two honey Gourami (I believe one male and one female) with 10 CPDs in a 10g.
Recently I got worried with the male getting dark colouration on its underside and cheeks thinking it was ill I did some reading, I believe it to be related to breeding behaviour per my reading.
Interesting I have a Mulberry tree at home. My tank (10g) pH seems to sit 7.6-7.8 (7.6 from the tap) despite a piece of driftwood do you think adding a leaf or two might help stabilize/lower the pH a little?
I've been doing 25-30% water changes the last 2 weeks and my nitrates haven't gone past 10 even before a change. Does this mean my water changes are enough or even too much?
It's a reasonably new (about a month) 10g cycled with some LFS media and fluval biological booster for one week before...
They must have come with some of our plants. What are they? Have spotted two so far. It's only a 10g a community tank so really don't want snails taking over, if they are some kind of fast breeding snail might remove them now.
My pair of Honey Gourami's and 10 x Galaxy Rasbora's seem to be doing well however I just want to make sure my feeding is ok as I am new.
Currently they are fed some Aquatopia Micro Tropcial Pellets once and day which everyone seems to be eating fine. Today they also got 4 or 5 mosquito larvae...
