10 Gallon Tank Betta tank advice

Forgot to mention that. Pygmies are tiny so your betta may harass them. Keep an eye on them for sure.

20 Gallon Tank Please help, I'm in over my head and beyond frustrated:(

Ugh hate pet stores selling commons for little tanks. Cloudy water may be from Fritz or from a bacterial bloom. I would recommend giving that common back, and if your heart is set on a pleco, get a clown pleco, like I said. But, if you are keeping a pleco, be prepared to do a lot of water...

10 Gallon Tank Betta tank advice

I reccomend Pygmy Corydoras for cleaners in a 10 gallon. They're very little so you can get an appropriate school (6+). Mystery snails are a bit messy, so keep an eye on parameters and use aqadvisor to see what your stocking is and get an idea of how many water changes to do and how many cories...

    Hot goldfish?

Do not add cooler water, this causes the temperature shock. You can float a bag of ice or cold water in the tank, and that's about all I know. Maybe just look it up and find some ideas online, I know they are tons of articles and videos about how to cool down a fish tank.

    Switching Substrate to Sand

Also there is a lot of bacteria on your substrate, so it will hurt your cycle, just be aware of that.

20 Gallon Tank Please help, I'm in over my head and beyond frustrated:(

Definitely agree with the advice here. Also, what kind of pleco is that? It could be a common, which gets to be 2ft long, or a bristlenose which is ok, but those get 6 inches long too, a bit big for a 20. A good pleco for a 20 is a clown pleco, ideally your aquarium would be extra long, but...

Why don't people just use Fluval Ammonia/Nitrite Remover over getting a Nitrogen Cycle Going?

(Solved now, thanks anyways) Just discovered these products. Both these products seem to be very effective based on reviews (I haven't added them to my tank yet), and I'm curious why people don't just use these and then never have to deal with nitrates. Is it because they release small amounts...

    Mollies at surface day 1

Probably the ammonia causing the issues, keep on using prime and testing water daily and logging parameters to check progress. Fish in cycles can be hard on fish, but prime will make things much better.

20 Gallon Tank Juvenile cichlid has ich, lethargic, eats normally,

Ok, I've been vaccuming every other day, hopefully ich isn't resistant to ICH X now. Thanks, was just worried about the little guy.

75 Gallon Tank Hob, 90g sponge filter bio question

I found a sponge that has room for media, so you can grow it on the sponge, and if you're extra concerned, you can put special media in there for more bio.

How long would tap water contaminants take to kill a fish/shrimp?

Just in my city we just do. The plumbing is old and many pipes haven't been replaced, and are still lead.

20 Gallon Tank Juvenile cichlid has ich, lethargic, eats normally,

Juvenile cichlid is last fish with ich, lethargic but eats normally, and still has vibrant colors. I treated with ICH X for 5 days, and all the fish seem treated, however I was using water you purchase from a store, so it got very expensive, so I started using heat treatment to finish...

How long would tap water contaminants take to kill a fish/shrimp?

Ok thanks. I think the issue is that there are lead pipes, so the conditioner should fix it up.

How long would tap water contaminants take to kill a fish/shrimp?

So, I've been doing water changes with purchased water, but it's been getting expensive so I want to start using tap water. But my tap water may have lead, so I'm getting a water conditioner to detoxify it. I am setting up a test 5 gallon with a shrimp, and I'll condition my tap water, but how...

Electric Blue Acara Has Constipation & slight bulge on his anus. (Quarantine?)

Ok, I pretty much am always overly anxious, and probably start worrying too soon, thank you. Kuhlis aren't suitable for my water parameters, but yoyos would work, but don't they need a 40 gallon as well? Don't want to make a tank full of 40 gallon fish, preferably I would want to have most fish...

Electric Blue Acara Has Constipation & slight bulge on his anus. (Quarantine?)

What is the water volume of the tank? 22 Gallons (36 by 12 by 12, I know may not work long term but he's a juvenile and I'll move him as he grows out) How long has the tank been running? 3 Weeks Does it have a filter? Yes, sponge with 2 sponges, and carbon Does it have a heater? Yes What is the...

How long could I keep an electric blue acara in a 22 gallon long (36 by 12 by 12)

UPDATE: Did end up getting the acara, my pfp is a picture of him. He's about the same size of the tetras, if not a bit smaller (not even joking) in the tank at the moment, so he should be ok in there for a while.

Does my fish need a buddy?

Looks like a skirt tetra, but it's a bit blurry. Definitely a schooling fish.

How long could I keep an electric blue acara in a 22 gallon long (36 by 12 by 12)

Yup. A year should be enough to come up with some plans and save up for one. I may just go with apistos so I can keep the fish in my current tank long term. Thanks for your help and input.

How long could I keep an electric blue acara in a 22 gallon long (36 by 12 by 12)

Alright thanks. They seem to be footprint fish, but 12 inches could be a bit short for them, in terms of height. Probably gonna keep the dithers just because of stress purposes for the cichlid, but may not add any more tank mates. They do have a decent bioload, so maybe I'll do extra water...
